I was having an issue with the side kickstand not staying up when riding, usually the least little bump in the road and it was dangling and even hitting the ground. A friend told me the bracket on the frame gets bored out over time(mine is a 1991)by the bolt that attaches the kickstand and said it has to be welded and re-drilled. I found a guy selling springs that remedy this much easier. It may or may not be a permanent solution but for a month of riding since swapping out the old spring the new one has kept my kickstand in place. Allforgedup.com ask Anthony for a spring. $20 USD
