I don't check the valves on my ST1100s until 100,000 miles - and in the past I let a shop do it.The same way that you do it when you are checking/adjusting the valves.

I just wished now I had pulled off the tranny before I tossed the old engine in the scrap bin.
I took it to work and they 'towmotored' it into their metal scrap bin.And how did you tossed an engine that "weighs a little north of 300 lbs"... into a scrap bin ?
