Beethoven was an obsessive coffee fanatic.
He would count out exactly 60 coffee beans for every cup he made. Not 59. Not 61. Exactly 60.
I can barely count to 10 before my first cup of coffee, let alone count out 60 individual beans.
So he was clearly operating on a different level.
Maybe that's the secret to genius? Precisely measured caffeine?... :coffee:

I don't mind snow....jpg

G'Day...

-1°/+1°C, gray, dark clouds overhead, tiny snowflakes getting swirled across the blacktop in little clouds... 🌪️
It will intensify with more to come during the afternoon... 🌨️
Far worse, are the weather guessers spreading panic by predicting up to 20cm/8" of that white stuff during the night... 🌨️🌨️🌨️🌨️🌨️
getting ze GF worried enough to rather stay at her place, north in the city and closer to her workplace, whereas I'm in the southeast...

as long as there are sufficient coffee supplies at home... :coffee:

commute was uneventful, might change tonight when roads are covered with sleet...
one might think residents of an alpine nation with skiing as 'national sport' should know how to drive in the winter... pfffff... right... about that... 😁
Decades of dumbing down people, cutting drive training and license tests, paired with the 'alphabet-soup features' in vehicles, finally pay off... 😉
And every year the winter appears sudden, out of nowhere, totally surprising the unprepared... especially municipal plow and gritter crews...

However, Thursday, the week is almost over... 😎

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin. I saw a meme here a while back showing a coffee maker with an open can of coffee next to it, and a hand with a scoop in between. There was a red arrow between the can and the machine, and the image was captioned "The distance it takes for me to forget a number between 1 and 10." Sadly, it's all too true in my case.

In Rockville we have wet weather approaching, due to arrive in the early afternoon, but only in liquid form. We're at 36°F now, on the way to 42 or so. Tomorrow's high of 48 is a far cry from the 62 that appeared for the date in last Friday's edition of The Daily SWAG, with today's rain continuing until about noon tomorrow. The county golf managers have already sent out announcements that the course I was scheduled to play tomorrow will in fact be closed, which came as no surprise to me. I was surprised they even ever felt they might be able to open. It's a week away, at least, in my view, and then only for the hardy who are willing to play in cool conditions on grounds still strongly affected by winter's ravages.

It's Thursday, so it's uke day for yours truly.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Thx Martin!
I share your pfffffft!
Always nice to throw out a proper pfffft! now and then.

Yesterdays snow clearance went well, and I was awarded with some heavy rainshowers afterwards, deeming my struggle worthless….poor chap Sisyphos comes to mind.

Now we have -5˚c/23f, sunny and calm, it’s supposed to be the last day with freezing temps for a while.

A trip to the library, then get some groceries, then a whole lotta nothing me hope.

Have a good and warm one!
Stu

Today looks like this….nothing special, but more than nothing.

Morning all, and thanks Martin! Two bean, or not two bean. That is the question.

-6 here and clear, headed to a sunny +1. You can almost taste Spring. Oh wait, that's likely smog.

Not much else on the books, other than another day for another dollar. At least a dollar still worth a dollar here. In the US it's worth 70 cents. Elsewhere: .62 Euro, .57 Swiss Franc, but almost 19000 Vietnamese Dong. That's a lot of dong! Wonder how far a dong goes down there? A quick DuckDuckGo search (you have to phrase it carefully to prevent censorship...) shows a cup of coffee is 10,000-20,000 VND.

Hope everyone has a great day, no matter your currency.

Obo.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's sunny and 29f/-1c, rising to 41f/5c later. The sunnyness will give way to cloudyness, later.
Whatever snow they were predicting missed us overnight, and everything is still clear.

Yesterday, I made it to the gym, and not much more.
I did get a call and email from the urologist's office, and I'll be busy, if you can call it that, in April. I may miss the first NEMRR race weekend, but will have a clear schedule for France in a few weeks.

Today, I'll head back to the gym, and try for a dog walk.
I finished my last Clancy book, and have started my next.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all
It’s been busy here in the sunny south.
We’re off for a “boat ride” today, I received an invitation to join two other couples for today’s excursion. We’ll be boating, enjoying lunch, boating & much, perhaps much more, merry making!
Presently a foggy 66f/19c topping off at 85/29, a beautiful sunny day is in the works!
Enjoy your day!

G'mornin' from SoMD! It's another gloomy day here, 42F/6C. Bringing out the jumbo coffee cup for today's requirements, thanks Maritn! The people that are paid big bucks to tell us if it's going to rain or snow this weekend are still shrugging their shoulders. It doesn't help that they keep saying that the "European" models show better convergence than the "American" model...uh, isn't OUR model supposed to be best for US??? I guess what's what happens when you slash budgets and fire good people to warn us of important stuff, like oh I dunno...bad weather. It also doesn't help when my wife, an avid doomscroller, latches onto the worst care forecast and I have to talk her off the ledge for the umpteenth time. But I digress...sorry folks.

The morning thus far has been unfun. I found out that one of the Princesses (I know which one) has been using a rug has her personal toilet for #1 for some time...I could smell it but couldn't pinpoint it until now. It looked clean on top but flip it over and...YUCK! Into the washer it goes and carpet clean underneath it, STAT!

Not much else except for work and maybe some garage stuff. Attic access is on hold until I can get the paint and caulk to finish it. Eh, brain fog is preventing anything else from getting through, so I'll sign off.

Did he count one bean each second? Because that would be 60 beans/minute, well below his MO. 2 beans per second is more his style. Perhaps, he added some "accelerando"?

Good morning.
Yes I just got up, last nite was one of those stay up and sleep in.
My bud is still…

70f outside, hazy. I guess there is a world out there. Rainy this evening and highs in mid 80s.

Did some say boating?!
I miss the snow…. Til.. right about.. now.
Today I want to finish my ‘your turn signals are still on, stupid’ indicator.
IMG_5270.jpeg

I have been on a lights and electric stuff kick.
Each day finish something on the bike.
I really don’t know what shape I would be in, without that focus.

Its my oldest daughters bday today.

Please don’t say urologist, just finally, finally finished recovery of a TURP. Quite a story.

Thanks for the coffee! It’s great!
Everyone have a good day and remember this…
Ummm I forgot. 😆

Morning Martin & All from a mixed clouds and Sun, in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 26F, up from 9F and heading for a whopping 55F. Well, we, like a few here, got hit with about 6" of snow. It's hard to tell exactly how much, since the winds were blowing all over. We have a slight breeze now, but later it will be lowing from the S @ 18 to 22mph.

I'll be removing the rest off the driveway, but tonight, we are supposed to get more.

Once Chris is up, we'll get some breakfast. Pepsi(s) on the menu for later.

Anyone (that can) :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all! Chilly, grey and overcast here today. 1C, predicted high of 3C.

I appreciate you keeping us up on currency events Obo.

No doubt one of turpitude.......

That's all I got, bad puns.

Hope everyone has a great day!

American GFS says we'll get 30 inches, European says TWO. So, yes we WILL get snow. Will I have to shovel any? Who the H*** knows.
