Should the fuel gauge return to zero when the ignition is off? Mine doesn't, bike's new to me, and I don't know if I have a problem or not. I notice even in the Haynes manual that their gauge is reading ~third full even when disconnected??

Mine doesn’t go to zero with ignition on. Stays close to where fuel level is at shutdown time.

To zero, the gauge would need to have a return spring or receive a reversed-polarity voltage.
