I have a 1991 ST1100 and my wife rides her own. Occassionally she will ride with me but not often. I would like to find a passenger backrest for her when she does ride with me but not break the bank. Does anyone have any info where to look for one?
Thanks,
Mike

The only after market one I have seen are the pads on the Givi top boxes. My wife liked my top box better before I added the extra pad. I never stopped to realize the protective gear she wears already has the padded back for protection. I really just waisted the money for the pad. Now with the two mounting holes drilled through the top box, the pad has to stay. Good luck with the search.

The ST1100 came with a backrest (well, at least some of them did) which had a zippered pouch on the back.

You can find them offered on eBay and Freestyle sometimes has them too... Don't know if you can find one that doesn't break the bank though as I don't know the size of your bank! :)

There's one on Ebay right now, unfortunately,it ends in an hour...But you can always find other items for sale by that seller and ask him if it's still for sale through another auction...

As of right now, there's 1:27 left and no bidders, starting bid is $109.99...

Sorry, I should have said "send a PM to Don Cortez "Freestyle" on this site as he might have one"

I have a 95 1100 with a Givi Monkey trunk which we remove sometines but need a back rest when we do. Any suggestions for a back rest that will mount on the Givi bracket??

Gene

I have not heard of any, but you've come up with an interesting idea. Maybe Givi has one. If not, maybe the bottom of a damaged case as a pattern!

Mike, i've got a backrest on my '95 1100 that I am including in the asking price of the bike. I will sell you the backrest for $2900 and you can just keep the rest of the '95 1100. Or I can sell you just the backrest for $50 and ask $2850 for the rest of the 1100, your choice. It doesn't have the little pouch on the back, it just has the padded backrest, and you have to remove the GIVI rack and install the backrest in the place of the rack. This is what I have to do on my other 1100, but it's still worth it to have both options.

Let me inow if you're interested. $50 + you pay shipping, and my zip code is 94965 if you want to get an idea of what shipping might come to.

Happy Holidays.

They are seen very infrequently on eBay; but, sometimes come up for sale on this site.

No hole Karen.
The stock back rest attaches where the handles do on the back of the bike and only provide a small cushion for the passenger.
Some of them had pouches behind the cushion; but, I don't know how or when that changed.

I don't know how or when that changed

I don't think they did change, I think the ones that have no pouch have had it removed due to the zipper failing. The OEM back rest was a $300.00 plus item from Honda back in the day. I have one that is like new, I took it off when it was new and boxed it up (no passengers for me so it was not needed). The ones I have seen for sale do tend to break the bank when you find one that isn't ratty.

Thanks.

One of mine came with a pouchless rest; so, it must have been removed.

You could start a new thread here, WHAT DO YOU KEEP IN YOUR BACKREST POUCH?? LOL.

Not going to be easy finding one anyway it seems.

thought this would be a neat backrest for short tours when the top box isn't needed.
Methinks you wouldn't be happy, as its either-or with that OEM Sissybar (P/N 08F75-MAJ-800 if I'm not mistaken, last known price around ? 270,-)
The bracket for that (IMHO ugly) thing utilizes the 4 mounting points for the carrier stay (your TC goes on) on the aft ends of the passenger rails.

And also Corbin had only passenger backrests (Canyon and Rumbler).

You'll need to get a police spec single seat cowl to gain something like that for the rider's seat

I have one of the back rests with the pouch on it, and my pouch is falling apart. I have been trying to find a new pouch with NO luck. I am starting to think I might have someone make me a new one. You would think Honda would have OEM pouches still available.
