"...I slept like a baby..." who came up with that nonsense...
they wake up every couple of hours to scream their head off...
I want to sleep like a cat...
12~14 hours a day, no regret, not a care in the world...
and no seized joints, sore muscles or pinched nerves... :coffee:

G'Day...

17°/26°C, overcast, skies with the color of a (CRT) TV on a dead channel...
some rain during the night and morning, possible clearing up during noon, more rain in the afternoon...

Double Nespresso dose in large mugs... ☕

yesterday kinda busy, assembling a "recycling rack/stand" for ze GF's kitchen... (paper, plastic/metals, deposit containers)
then out to the pump shed, attending that negative pressure leak, causing the pump to run dry/trip the protection every now and then... 🤔
couldn't pinpoint a definite cause, so I just carefully sealed up every joint/thread again upon re-installation...
Looks good for now... (as it always did for a couple of weeks in the past... 🤨)

Then I appreciated ze GF's new privacy terrace shades for a while, while collapsing in the deck chair... 😎

Then daughter #1 showed up with her BF... ceremonially hoisting a backpack...
placing it on the floor, opening the zipper and... the cat is out the bag...

The critter looked at me, blinked twice "...I'm here against my will!..." and darted upstairs to hide in the uncharted depths of the guest-room foldout... "... I won't talk to you for the rest of the day so you know that I'm mad!..." definitely female...

Daughter #1 and the quasi-SIL got filled up with coffee and a special Kaiserschmarrn utilizing candied vineyard snails instead of raisins...
Don't ask 😉 that's between the girls there...
While SIL absolutely refused, I gave them a go... no big deal, not different to regular raisins, but in a sweet dish escargot seem as senseless as frog-legs... nothing more then a fashion hype...

The day faded... in the evening, while watching 'The Astronaut - Project Hail Mary', something heavy dropped into my side of the bed... "....PFRRRRRIAUUU!!!?..." 🐱
Thanking for the pets and scratches from me, she then walked across my belly, pinching each paw heavily into my abdomen... 😉
The critter then keeled over right between us, rolled on her back, hind and front legs fully stretched out... over 3 ft of top predator... purring so loud, I had to turn the TV up...

Well rested due having slept nearly all day, Pricess Crapsalot of course got the zoomies during the night, disturbing my night rest by jumping on top of me, screaming a "PFRRRUIIIEEE!?" and pushing her wet nose into my face... before starting to dart up and down that wooden staircase and ending the performance with a grand finale of '...how to dig a tunnel to China or Taiwan in that litterbox...'... pfffff...

hope that non of you guys practiced any drunk driving, instead passed out right on the porch just like your forefathers... 😉

have a great Sunday... 😎

Good morning everyone

Thanks for th4e coffee, Martin. You and the cat will get along just fine.

It's 73°F and mostly cloudy in Rockville. We did get a little thunder and about 0.15"of rain yesterday evening, but nothing like the powerful deluge that had been hyped. A repeat performance is expected this evening. Before that, mostly cloudy with a high of "only" 91 that will feel like a dozen degrees warmer.

No ride yesterday, but today I will so it's time to get to it.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, Martin, and thanks for the coffee.
Yeah, zoomies in the middle of the night... it's what they do. Mine at 3:00am, after I wake for my bathroom break.

It's 70 and mostly cloudy in MA this morning , rising to 80, later.
There is rain in the vicinity , so there's a chance of that.

We mostly stayed inside, out of the heat, yesterday, but made time for dinner out at a local pub-style restaurant. We got there early , so we were able to find seating without a problem. In fine 4th tradition, we both had burgers.

Back home, we watched more Futbal, and a Sox game, later.

Today, I'm sure there's more Futbal to be watched , and Brenda was talking about mowing the lawn. I'll help with the edge trimmer, and she may insist on cooking , later.

Enjoy your day ,
Steve

Morning all, and thanks for the startup Martin.

20 and sunny, headed to 27 later on. Not nearly as bad as yesterday's oppressive heat, which surpassed over 100 years of recorded history they said. The 18 folks who arrived soldiered on, inside the garage and outside on the lawn. 18 brave souls was the final total, the last leaving just before midnight. I had the smart idea to put 3 large fans in the garage to help with airflow in the shade. It made a world of difference.

Today, will be cleanup day, as we just dumped all the outside games, sun umbrellas etc into the garage and closed the overhead doors.. The only thing we dealt with last evening was the leftovers, not that much was left. There were 2 hamburgers and 1 hot dog left out of 24 of each that were cooked.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Obo.

Thanks for the start and Good luck with the new pet sounds like she's adjusting well
Had my first "shade tree" AC recharge - no evacuation, no leak check, no proper gauges or scale just, dump it in and see what happens
was going to bring some equipment to recharge my frail BIL (Ill call it the Japanese Chevrolet with the Dodge 2.4 engine?) some odd 2004 sedan might be the only one made... ever - looks like a highly optioned accord but not quite an acura except after 80,000 km nothing still works
The two months of summer is here and no AC and the power windows don't work and he's in poor health
I get this apparatus from Lordco with the "R12a" 9 ounce cartridge, get enough vapor out of the can to make the compressor switch, a bit more vapor chills the remaining liquid, gets warm and looks like I need another can, remove the thing still has half the refrigerant in it couple more tries and manage to get the adapter valve/ core depresser/ aerosol can vale/ to finally cooperate and away it flows - good for, well... now at least 😳
Hope it lasts a month or two
Interesting stuff with the politicians now going on in the lower mainland; waking up to the consequences of horrible building codes; getting used to the idea that AC are life safety systems in many of these designs that can't be adequately ventilated
Here's an idea - can't open a window, don't bring a bed
Will catch up with a few aquaintances and look at a few old cars today weather is good what could be better
wish everyone a good one and a safe ride if you're out there
(edit) Chevrolet Epica LS is what it is

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee Martin.
No offense, but after a good night's rest I woke up not groggy or dazed, so I made my pot of Black Rifle efficiently and quietly, and the coffee filter did its job as usual, not like the foldover mess of late last week.
And it occurred to me, that the first cup of coffee of a morning has an aroma, a warmth, and a sweetness of flavor (not like sugar sweet) that is unmatched by any that follow.
On the 250th birthday of the USA, I broke down and bought a new Toro mower, and cut the front yard. After replacing cables, belt, and pull starter, I looked at my rust-eaten, 15-to-more-like-20-year-old machine and said, "Enough is enough, and I'm done trying to play Jesus to this dead Lazarus machine."
Took about 45 minutes, and even after initially raising the cutting height, it stalled 4 times going through the over-tall, dense greenage.
Then I blew all the clippings off the driveway and the walk.
So when I was done in front, I raised all 4 wheels a little bit more.
My wife, despite all her ongoing aches, pains and ailments, showed more excitement than I've seen in her about anything in recent memory, at the civilized appearance.
This mower is weird with its new tech, called "personal pace auto-drive", which is not at all like Tesla's self driving autopilot, but you simply walk behind it with no pushing. The light or heavier pressure on the bar adjusts how much and how fast the rear wheels drive it. It's as effortless as you can get while mowing, except for sitting down on a rider.
I guess also excepting Martin's robo-mower.
Today I'll mow the smaller back yard, and do some weed chopping.
Now to get some help with that recalcitrant John freaking Deere riding mower!
So once more, I inadvertently while simultaneously and unapologetically clearly demonstrate to all here what a usually boring life I lead.
Martin reminded us of cat zoomies, and reminded me that Roz came downstairs late last night quite ...shall I say, "perturbed" because I was watching The Night Agent series on Netflix with earplugs in, and didn't hear her call my phone twice.
Apparently, Kaiser was zoomie-ing with the cats unbeknownst to me (earplugs) and she thought he was fighting.
He doesn't fight with them, he just wants to get a closer look at them. Sometimes they allow it, and sometimes they don't. So when they run, initiating his "this is fun!" semi-prey drive he chases them through the house.
Being much larger and heavier, he can't turn the corners as sharply as they can, so his legs and paws spin and clamber for traction (think Roadrunner and Wile-E Coyote) loudly
(without earplugs) on the hardwood floors
as his shorter claws slip on the hardwood floors, and he slides into things.
Great fun to watch, and no one is ever hurt.
Unless Roz is downstairs and Kaiser runs over her bare feet. I keep telling her she can wear shoes...
Anyway... Night Agent.
I seem to recall there was a similar series by the same name a few years back, that one with Timothy Olyphant of "Justified."
Action, intrique, and FBI and CIA spy stuff. And lots of shooting, which is why I was using earplugs, so it wouldn't keep Roz awake.
Now, while I have used a lot of words already this morning, don't you worry. I have lots more to use later on.
Anwway, it's time for my not-quite-as-delightful-aroma, little-bit-hotter-after-sitting-on-the-burner, and a little-less-sweetness-of-flavor (not like sugar sweet) that is my second cup that follows that first cup.
But it is still excellent, and one is never enough.
Not for me.
So enjoy your excellent coffee, or Pepsi, or whatever is your favorite, and follow it up with an excellent day.

Morning Martin & All from mostly sunny, Southern Utah!

With some high clouds in the sky (I know, where else would they be? )the current temp is 82F, heading for 87F. No breeze at this time, but later, the winds will be out of the SW @ 16 to 27mph.

Other than finishing up the two door frames, I pretty much didn't do a whole lot. Of course, afte getting the door frames done, Chris asked me if I was going to do the front door frame as well? :cautious: I told her, why didn't you say something when you said something about the backdoor? :mad-2x:

So, guess what I'll be doing tomorrow?

We went down to our church to watch the fireworks from the airport Fire Department, that they do every year. At the end, they set off the unused aircraft fuel, so there's a big fireball at the end! :tongue-2x:

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) on hand for later.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Well, I'm back home after a mostly good ride. The leg power-o-meter was reading dangerously near Empty by the time I got back, but back I got.

Now showered, changed, and refreshed, my agenda for the remainder of the afternoon and possibly well into the evening calls for an extended session in the comfy chair, with a strong possibility of including a nap.

It was seasonably warm (low 90s) but nothing like the bake oven conditions of yesterday. I'll call that a win.
