Discovered this Thunder Box device while searching for the Fuzeblock. No need to tap into a switched power source. Seems too easy to be true.

I've seen a few of these devices over the years but have never owned or opened one. I have no problem believing that if built properly it will work as advertised. Yes there's an if but there always is till there's competent hands-on experience.

There's a < 1mA parasitic drain to deal with. And I did't see a load spec for the TB. It could trigger another relay I suppose. A schemo would have been nice. Save me the wear and tear on the little gray cells. Looks interesting. More reading required. Thanks for the link.

User manual #5 We recommend leaving the TB White wire disconnected. This ensures the TB unit will work automatically (refer to chapter 5 for operation modes). Use the Ignition-controlled mode if the automatic mode does not work properly on your bike, or your battery charger sets the TB outputs ON.
I don't like using anything on my bike with an automatic shut off. Don't need a dead battery in some far off place . What do you need to add on? You can do a simple relay for heated gear and a charging port. On my RT I use the lights to turn on the relay. It takes milliamps to power the relay coil it so it does not affect anything. One relay can handle up to 30 amps which is more than you need.

Is this for your V85? There should be a switched power source under the seat (from the factory).
