Texas Hill Country

Did not ride the complete Natchez Trace just a southern portion. Uncle Phil, you are most likely right. I got the speed limits mix up with Sky Line. A buddy and I rode out from Texas to the Barber Museum in Birmingham and then cut west to the Trace. I am not exactly sure where we picked it up, Eupora I think, but rode south to Jackson Mississippi where we split up I went west back to Dallas and then to Wichita Falls and he went south to New Orleans, to Huston and then back to San Antonio. No, I am old but 1930s, Not that old. :thumb:
Not Eupora but Mathiston, We did that ride in 2007.

The Three Sisters was the best ride of my life and then the worst. Best because of the incredible roads, of course. I was in the Concours Owners Group at the time and the group event was well attended, probably 25 bikes, April during the spring flowers. It was a fast group and wow those roads are really something at a brisk pace. We did riding on Friday and Saturday, out on Sunday. That’s where it got interesting. There were severe storms forecast for early Sunday morning, needless to say not an ideal ride home. We were in Hunt, not really that far from I-10 to head east ahead of the storm. I was aware of the deer threat, early morning, but I never expected to see hundreds of them. It was still dark at 5:30 and the imminently arriving storm stirred them up more than the usual morning and as the rain grew heavier my visibility got even worse in the darkness, in a hurry to beat the storm and riding past a never ending parade route of white tails. Unbelievably nerve wracking. Even so, the trip was awesome. Anyone on a trip near San Antonio should add a day to ride the sisters.

Sounds like when I went to a couple of the old HSTA (High Speed Touring Association) rallies. Always crashes.

Come East some time for BRG, Snakestoc and/or WVSTOC. We only scratch the surface of the hilly and curvy roads available. I suppose you could do the "named" roads if you need another Tee shirt. ;)
