on cosmic scale a statistically insignificant spec of dust,
but extremely important to your coffee... :coffee:

And another miserable 1°/4°C gray-overcast-drizzle-damp-just-uncomfortable-day over here... 🌫️

this time'o'year the only nice consistency is ze hot coffee ... ☕
(and the [Season Greetings!] email carpet-bombing from every imaginable contact...)

pretty much done for the year, Monday, Dec 22nd is going to be the last workday at ze office, after that I'm off till Jan 7th...
GF not as lucky, she's drafted till Dec 24th... (me, alone at home...)

Ordered a small present/motivator for her bike ;)

just dealt with plotting some construction plans, each over 6ft long... I kid you not...
Folding those up neatly... pretty much XXXL origami... :cautious:
decipher the hieroglyphs, list up the rooms, required equipment and estimated pipe runs...

weekend, finally... 😮‍💨
Doing laundry, dishes, vacuuming the place... it never ends...
Driving to ze GF's place in ze evening, the 'summer residence'... ;)
Some chores there, relocating the trail cam, refilling the bird-feeder, check if any clean up required in the garden...
After that: feet up and.... doin' nothing... ☺️

have a great one!

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee Martin, but now I’m extremely tired from reading your to-do list. :)

It seems that I’m back to my normal schedule of waking up at 4:00 AM. It’s 31, a 20 degree drop from yesterday, and only going to 44. Yesterday’s high of 58 was really nice, even if it did rain 1 1/4”.

The family finally decided on Christmas Eve for the get-together. They found that everyone had free time between 1:00 and 1:30 PM. No big dinner, no drinks, no sitting by the fireplace. Just swap some meaningless presents, and eat some chips.

Teddy and I know the real meaning of Christmas…..We’re going camping.

John

Morning all and thanks for the startup Martin.

@Nashcat camping sounds wonderful, as long as it's not well below freezing!

Here it's above freezing and a mild 6C headed to 14C. There's rain in the forecast along with a yellow wind alert which the current strong sustained winds will gust up to 100kph. We'll see how the new roof holds up. If it doesn't, I've got a warranty now. :)

5 more sleeps.

Obo.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin, and enjoy your time away from the office.

It's a wet 58°F (!!) in Rockville, where heavy rain is expected during the morning, and a plunge in temperature begins around 1300 hours as a cold front moves in. By midnight we'll be back below freezing. Oh well, it is December after all, and I'm glad the precipitation will be in the form of rain rather than the snow we'd have gotten had the cold front arrived before the air released its moisture.

Ordered a small present/motivator for her bike ;)

Leaving you with plenty of time to get ze GF's bike ready for the 2026 season. How's that rehab going, anyhow?

a yellow wind alert

I've heard of yellow snow, but not yellow wind. I hope yellow wind isn't wind mixed with mustard gas.

This afternoon I'll join my uke friend at a singalong put on by another local club. They were at our kanikapila last month; now that I've taken the leadership reins of my group I want to start getting to know the other local club leaders and members, with an eye to more informal get-togethers.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Martin . I've got to pass, though, since I'm not allowed caffene before my MRI later this afternoon.
Decaf tea it is :(

It's 55, overcast, and rather balmy outside. the temperature will head to 57, with rain and wind predicted, starting around 10:00am.
It'll start dropping, and the temperature is supposed to go down to about 25.
Basically, a few hours removed from Keith's forecast.

I did the gym thing, and came home to Brenda furiously wrapping Christmas presents for the local grandkids. I left her alone, and just hung out for the rest of the day.
We went to the local pub-style restaurant that we've previously tried, and had a decent supper there. One of the local radio celebs was there, dressed up as Santa, and he had stopped there after visiting the local children's hospital. Both of us used to listen to him and his partner on our way to work in the morning.

Today, I'll head out to the gym, and my MRI later this afternoon. Since I'm fasting beforehand, we'll be hoovering up food, afterward.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Tried to sleep in my hitting Snooze... I missed and hit Dismiss on the alarm... Oops.
Nice keyring Martin, and nice coffee.
High today of 49, right at the cusp of where I don't "really" need to wear heated gear. (I know through extensive scientific research. AKA personal experience.)
Got so tired of this blasted cold with
coughing and runny nose, I gave it to Roz. "Here, honey, consider it an early Christmas gift."
As a result of my generosity, she will stay home tonight while I go to the annual Christmas party we always go to together.
That's ok.
She doesn't like to ride the motorcycle anyway.
It's cold, and I'm going to work.

Good Friday y'all from SoMD! Not that fake Friday that yesterday tried to shill us with. This is the real deal! Viel dank fur die Kaffe, Martin! Yes, I too am in a good mood since I too will be taking off from work after today. They tried to shuffle work on me and make it due right as I came back, but nope! Already done. Take that!

As reported by Keith, it is an insane 59F/15C and soggy this morning, but expected to move off taking the warmth with it. Considering the toll this cold December has taken on my heating bill budget, I'll take any reprieve I can get. Our biggest chances for snow come in January and February, and I think we're due.

Not much on today's agenda. Do a little cleanup work while I'm on the clock and maybe some training. Then a casino gig tonight for a little extra dough for gifts. Take care y'all!

Good Morning, Thanks Martin,me like the key tag. Keith took the question about zeGF's bike. Mostly Cloudy 36 F rising to 43 F or 2 C high 8 C depending on where one lives. Woke up at 6 am, so have done the usual stuff, after I finish cup number two, going to see why the Barn lights not working. Hopefully just a tripped Circuit breaker. Seems like my world doesn't like the power going out for five hours. After that I haven't a clue what to do today, Y'all have a good day G

Did some parts search and bookmarks, but declined ordering before/during the holidays, the parcel/postal services are overwhelmed/delayed and many dealers are closed anyway...
I'll start spreading cash mid January...

Morning Martin & All from mostly cloudy Southern Utah!

Currently it is 54F, up from 45F and heading for 61F. Very warm for a December in our part of Southern Utah! The winds are already blowing from the SSW @ 16 to 19 MPH.

Yesterday was a total bust. My left hip has been killing me, so I haven't been able to get up and move around too much. I'm afraid today will be the same. :well1:

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & Oj to start the morning. Pepsi(s) on the menu for later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good afternoon all!

Late the party as I was busy this morning trying to get everything done before holidays start on Monday. Including doing a little creative writing for time entries for days I had forgotten to enter time for in our docketing software. There was a directive that all time for the year, prior to the end of the year mind you, must be entered. I'm sure there's a time paradox sci fi episode in there somewhere....It's an academic exercise as I only have one client and they only have us keep time for some Black Arts Accounting exercise of moving pennies from this pile to that pile over there. It's really just a pile....

Grey and rainy here as goes the season. 5C right now and the weather network claims we'll climb a further 2 degrees to 7C. I remain skeptical and a little ambivalent over the whole issue.

Hope everyone is having and continues to have a great day! (For those who's day has ended, hopefully it went well.)
