I once tried to quit caffeine...
at the end coffee won... :coffee:

G'Day...

-1°/+1°C, overcast, damp, fog, drizzle, partially freezing... in short: an awful, uncomfy day... 🥶
Traffic moderate, most roads covered with wet brine, patches with the friction coefficient of a skating rink can surprise you in less frequented side alleys... heehaw!...

slurped my daily caffeine doses... :coffee:

some stress in the morning, handling offers at values of 150K and beyond (such does make nervous... have I calculated everything correct?... have I forgotten anything?... etc...)
should be smooth sailing from now on...
another part for ze GF's NT arrived (complete RH turn-signal), will drop by the shed on my way home to unload all the boxes accumulated in the trusty Toyota...

Had a stroke of luck this week...
Motorcycle gear retailer had a "sale" (normally I just hit SHIFT+DEL on those spam mails), while, kinda bored, skimming through their online shop pages,
I stumbled upon a NOS SENA SLR I kit offered for only € 50,-... might come useful as organ donator for my (€ 230,-!) SLR II one day, so why not...
Unpacked it, connected it to the PC and ran their SenaDeviceManager over it... 🖥️
After the firmware update procedure it now identifies as SLR II... nice...

Weekend! Home, chores, watch some TV (BD, series, whatever...), relax...

Thx Martin, buy a lottery ticket as well!

5˚c/41f, rain, calm.

Buying groceries, clean house, pick up battery in the boat - it needs charging, something’s stealing current….

Some vino later, and spaghetti leftovers….

Yesterdays visit of Peter was nice and eventful as always.

Enjoy the weekend!

Morning all.

+2 and cloudy for the drive in in the dark. -7 and snow showers later on.

@ST1100Y I've got an SRL3 in my helmet and the Mrs has an SRL2 (Neotec 2 & 3 helmets.) I find the Bluetooth connection is better quality wise when there's 2 of us, compared to using the mesh connection.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin. Nice find on the Sena.

It's 21°F (the 8 mph W wind means it feels like 5) and allegedly clear in Rockville but it's too dark for confirmation so I'll accept what the app says and move on. A high of 35 is expected, with fairly steady wind speeds (discounting gusts of as much as twice the constant speed) shifting from W to S after noon.

I've nothing on the docket for today, which means I have lots of time available for napping and resting up. Not long into yesterday's uke session I realized I wasn't feeling real good so I packed it in early and headed home. After a bit to eat I settled in under some blankets in front of a cricket match replay and dozed for a few hours. I still feel a bit ragged this morning so another day of idleness seems like the right thing.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.
I added a Table Talk mini cherry pie, to make a tasty breakfast.

It's 16 and partly cloudy this morning, rising to 29 with 20-30mph winds.

Yesterday, I made it to the gym, and did the dog walk thing later in the day.
Dinner was at a restaurant across the street, for a delicious pasta bolognaise.

Today, I may get to the gym for a bit, and we're going to meet Joe's in-laws for lunch in Sturbridge.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Thanks for the morning life blood Martin!

13F here this morning under cloudy skies. It may hit 24F before dropping again. It rained here Wednesday night and pretty much all day yesterday which ended up rebuilding the skating rink I call my driveway. At some point last night it snowed enough to put a thin layer on everything. I will venture out later to spread sand. The next few days are forecast to be "unsettled" with temperatures bouncing like a pogo stick and precipitation probably maybe likely but limited.

Nothing exciting planned for today. Maybe another loaf of sourdough bread and a pot of chili will come out of the kitchen, maybe not.

Be safe, be careful and enjoy those you have around you.

Scott

Good morning, folks. It's late, so I've made a fresh pot of nice, strong Kicking Horse coffee if anyone's interested.

The sun is actually shining today, which is a wonderful thing, and it's making all that snow look rather pretty. It seems we were spared the worst of yesterday's snowstorm - the biggest of the season so far, apparently, but winter isn't even half over yet, so I'm sure there are more delights to come. Toronto got clobbered with fully twice as much white stuff as we got, and they're not used to that; they usually get a lot less snow than we do. We got something like 15 cm (about 6 in), just enough to cause a certain amount of havoc and chaos on the roads and transit system. I didn't go out so none of that affected me, but we'll be getting more snow tomorrow, so I'll probably be out clearing my balcony of what has already fallen.
Temperatures have also dropped drastically and we're back in a very windy, deep freeze of sorts today. It's currently -16°C/3°F with a windchill of -27°C/-17°F and it won't get much warmer. No matter, blankie and builder's tea are at the ready.

Right, that's me. Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely. @Whisker Bill: how are you doing, Brian? We're thinking of you.

Patty

G'mornin' y'all from SoMD! Boy its been chilly, windy last night walking the dogs, and waking up to 17F/-8C today. If the forecast for snow had held out, we probably would have gotten a good amount. Thank you for the hot coffee, Martin. Keeping my hands and insides warm!

I half gandered the thought of riding in to the office to get onto the PauCb ride list, but why start the weekend unpleasantly? Which reminds me I need to reorder some handlebar muffs. The last pair I bought got returned bc they were fugly and did NOT match the pics...trust me I did not order the neon pink, Bengal tiger-striped style!

Whatever I said I was going to do yesterday, I didn't. Whatever I say I'll do today, I likely won't. Working on tech stuff for my upcoming show. Preview performance next Saturday and the competition is the following Sat the 31st. Coordinating getting a door and frame and doing some prop 3D printing. But for now, I sit, sip, and watch the clock tick away until I can leave. Take care y'all!

Good Morning, maybe. So far going okay, boiled eggs came out like a Nuclear disaster though, one was cracked prior to boiling and number 2 didn't peal nice. Still tasted good though. Have the feeling my Coffee maker is about to pack it in. Hopefully just a bad power cord that I can replace or hopefully just tighten connection. Foggy this morning 37 F high of 48 F Sunny this afternoon, hopefully clear up Soon wanted to ride to the bike show in Abbotsford, but I don't Ride in the fog, if I can avoid it. Right now Visibility is about 500 feet. In the meantime I have a few repair projects I can play with, or go back to bed. Ok,thanks Martin for coffee and getting us going, and everyone else have a great day G

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 35F, up from 20F and heading for 47F. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be out of the N@ 9 to 12mph.

Yesterday I got a haircut, since I had a coupon, it was only half price @ $10. :giggle: Then, after lunch, and since it was 55F, I pulled the :bl13: out and did a 53 mile ride. By the time I got home, the temp had dropped to 52F and I wasn't wearing my winter gloves, my hands were a bit cold. It's funny. In Murrieta, if the temp was 55F or below, I would have the heated gear on.

Chris just got up, she has to go set up the sourdough bread to be baked, then we'll eat. Probably have boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

I've got an SRL3 in my helmet and the Mrs has an SRL2 (Neotec 2 & 3 helmets.) I find the Bluetooth connection is better quality wise when there's 2 of us, compared to using the mesh connection.
GF has a Schubert C3 pro, hence a SENA SC10UA (which requires a remote due buttons being hidden behind the visor...)
Me with either NEOTEC and SENA 10U (same design as the SC10UA, thus also requiring a remote...), or the NEOTEC II with the SENA SLR II, way more convenient with the buttons at the outside
We don't have the bike2bike always on, just using the remote/center button to de/activate the intercom as needed...
And neither of us would fancy the sudden appearance of some stranger's voices in our headsets, hence mesh was never even considered... ;)
I also never was a friend of sticking an "ulcer" on the helmet rim/outside, so always preferred the neat, hidden, OEM style integrated versions...

Especially as the EC has slammed us with a new helmet norm/regulation (ECE 22-06) by which accessories/intercoms must be homologated together with the helmet (hence by the helmet maker),
which pretty much excludes all "stick on" intercoms to begin with... (if that was simply lobbying by the helmet MFG's or indeed "good intentions" leaves room for debates... ;))
Austrian LEOs don't seem to care much yet, but there reports of it being objected/fined while crossing Germany, France or Belgium...

GF has some issues with mentioned handlebar remote (SENA RC4), fat-fingering the buttons...
So I'm intending to replace that with the SENA RC3, featuring larger buttons...

Over the weekend I made the choice to finally concede that my riding days may be behind me.

Mrs. Fun was in a large-scale tidy-up and clutter reduction mode (mostly, I will say, clearing messes she had made while engaged in the entirely laudable work of cleaning out closets and whatnot that contained various boxes, bags, and paper items that she squirreled away). Among the items unearthed were a pair of moto helmets that have been on the shelf for the better part of a decade, one never used and the other used only slightly if at all. I'd been hanging onto them "just in case".

However, I agreed to dispose of them with the reservation that if I ever found myself in a situation where I needed a helmet I'd buy one. She raised no objection to that, perhaps thinking that it would be an unlikely scenario. I still maintain it's more likely than she thinks, but we'll have to wait and see.
