The weather is rapidly changing in the Northern Hemisphere. I agree with what some have said... Paul would not want us to stop riding, nor stop this game, just because he's gone. I know that some who might take up the mantle may be hesitant to do so. I decided I'd give this one more run in honor of Paul for keeping it going for so many years.

This year's game is for rides from today October 25, 2022 through April 30, 2023. I decided to go to end of April since, at least around here, there have been sometimes some very cold temps in April.

Same rules as before... just post the lowest temp you've ridden in for more than 15 miles for the 2022-2023 winter. Extra details would be nice, but not required, i.e. gear worn, where you went, etc. We're on the Honor System, so no wind chill, no handicap and no participation trophies! Don't hesitate to correct me if I miss someone or make a mistake. I'll update this first post with the names and temps of the top 10, as they are generated. All temps in Fahrenheit. For reference, last year's thread is here.
Remember, you ride in the cold at your own risk. Be sure to take proper precautions and wear the proper gear for such riding conditions. Ride safe out there.

As stated in the banner at the top of some game threads:
  • The ST-Owners.com forum, the event organizers and ride leaders are not responsible for actions taken during any ride. Each member is responsible for determining if conditions are acceptable for riding and for their actions.

Oh, lest I forget.
Today I rode out for an errand at the store. A 4 mile round trip that somehow turned into 24 miles riding out in the country. Temp was 42*F for this ride. I did wear my neck gator for the first time this season and my insulated inner liner. I also wore my cool/cold weather gloves. But I haven't inserted any liner in my mesh over pants nor have I put the handlebar muffs on yet. No heated grips were used for this ride. Not yet cool enough.

With our Fall/Winters here, I just might be able to join in! LOL

BTW, I rode across the Nevada desert last January, it was 27F to 35F from Cedar City to Fallon Nevada via Ely, Nevada. :thumb:

28F back on Oct 3rd. Just the neck gaiter, jacket liner and heated grips. Still had the riding pants set to Summer mode with the zip out panels and the mesh exposed.

Thanks @rjs987 for taking this up and choosing a very suitable title for it! It certainly won't be the same without Paul but I agree he'd say carry on.

You can put me at the BOTTOM of this list.
2 weeks ago I rode when it was 50F.
(I'll read the Rules closer, in case I need to include a photo next time.)
No photo needed, but it is an honor system.
Game starts TODAY so any ride today or after until April 30, 2023 counts for the list.

Oh, you should see it now! I have a 1990 Suzuki Samurai parked in the spot behind me. Since getting my 24x12 shed, a lot has gone out to it and now I just put up my 11x15 shed (that I use to use for working on my motorcycles back in Murrieta.) So I'll be moving even more out of the garage! Then i can work on my 3 ST1300s without having to spend 30 minutes to clear the garage out, so I can get to things! ;)

I was even thinking it would be good to maybe possibly start a coldest ride game for the Southern Hemisphere starting May and ending October. What say those at the bottom of the globe?

I guess those in California can still participate in this game during these next 6 months. That's pretty cold for CA today. Will be a few weeks before I'll be seeing that around here... maybe.

I think we should have a hottest ride of the winter. You never know when a heat wave will come through and cause us to ride without our jackets to make the ride more comfortable.
Go for it.
Although, I won't be riding without my jacket no matter how hot it gets. I'll just open all the vents and take out all the liners but still be wearing ATGATT even at over 100*F. BTDT.
