coffee snobs talk about notes of chocolate, cherry and whatnot...
if your order has more words than a wedding vow, it’s a milkshake with anxiety...
my quick, plain brew just tastes like survival... :coffee:

G'Day...

2°/14°C, morning haze with frost in shaded places... thin layers of fog hovering over the fields and grassland... sunny for the rest of the day... ☀️

morning Nespresso to crank...
now slurping my hot office Nescafé... :coffee:

the city parks are saturated with the scent of thawing dog-turds... (some folks don't clean up after their pups...)
the youth, lured out on their 50cc mopeds by the mild temps, filling the streets with grueling high pinch engine whine paired with the stench of 2-stroke exhaust,
(trust me, the "bio" version with rapeseed-oil isn't any better...) throwing you just into that well balanced zone between migraine and nausea...
Ah, spring is in the air... lovely... 🙃

last night... I refueled the trusty Toyota... 😵‍💫
current events reflect massively at the pump displays... currently we're at aprox € 7.50,-/gal for premium/98oct/E5...
ze GF is also peeved, as diesel has even burst the € 2,-/ltr mark, resulting in about € 8.37,-/gal premium/E5...

mayor brands now even offer on site council:

no end in sight and it'll instantly impact at the grocery shelves, food production is energy and transport intensive...
So, soon we're back to that healthy diet of potatoes, pasta and instant soups... but we're gen-x, used to the 70ies poverty... 😒

well, don't despair... and, as said previously, keep breathing while putting your socks on... 😎

Thx Martin!
I was in Budapest just after the ironcurtain was gone, almost all cars were 2stroke Trabants, wow the smell…!

Yesterdays funeral went well, it’s probably wrong word for a funeral, but he was sent off with dignity.
I and my co-son in law, kept our mouth shut…De mortuis nil nisi bene.

Mrs Stu says she’s now able to look forward, she was happy to have our kids and grandson around her yesterday.

Today is mostly cooking, and prepping things.
Got a hand surgery tomorrow, and it will take a few days before I can use my right hand.

7˚c/45f, mostly overcast, 25mph wind from southeast.

Have a good one!
Stu

Todays situation as seen from the kitchen…springish….(and I’m replacing the deck in a month or so..).

Morning all and thanks Martin for the startup.

-6 here, headed to -8 later on. Someone should tell the mercury to go the opposite way. For those of you young-uns, mercury (a highly toxic metal that's liquid at room temperature) used to be used in thermometers.

Obviously we arrived home last evening after our 2 days of driving to see Thing 2. That's a lot of time in a cage to see someone for 3.5 hours, lol. Luckily all the bad weather happened overnight during our trip and I was able to get a late checkout yesterday to let the plows and the Sun do it's thing to clear up the roadways.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 44 and "fair" in Maribel.
I just got down from the top of one of the peaks, and am waiting for Brenda and friends to arrive for lunch.

It seems like my three-hour knees become two-hour knees in the Alps. Eh... It's all good.

After lunch we'll go back to the hotel, and I'll drop off the skis on the way.

Stu, good luck with your surgery.

Enjoy the day.
Steve

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 45°F, cloudy, and foggy in Rockville as warm moist air tussles with the cold air we've had for most of the winter, trying to push it out to sea. We4've got plenty of moisture, of the moss-growing variety: everything is saturated and permeated with wet. More wet, in the form of light rain this evening, is expected along with temperatures rising into the mid 60s.

Being Thursday it's ukulele day. Before that I'll try to get to the gym, and afterward I'll finish packing for tomorrow's trip (in case it actually happens; the jury is still out on that).

Not a lot else to report.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning all!
Thanks for today’s get going, Martin!

Yes Stu, it’s sad to say goodbye to any family!

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!

It’s a nice & warm morning here in North Fort Myers! 70/90 F or 20-30 C.

Sunday, I’m hauling a load of folks to a boat club picnic. It will only be an hour or so up the river to a park.

Good Morning!
No coffee snob here! Thanks for the nice start!

61f here, highs mid 80s, blue sky, no rain or snow 🥶 another beaut of a day!!

I remember being young riding dirt bikes and smelling Klotz oil.. loved that sweet smell.

Heading out for a bike day trip! 😜 feel like a kid again!

I’d fill all vehicles with fuel, asap, I suspect daily increases for a while.

Everyone Have a great day and take care!

Thanks for the coffee Martin, i never mix my milkshakes with my coffee, although i like both.
Speaking of, the paper coffee filter fell down in the basket, allowing the ground coffee to float around and clog the drip button. Makes the drip process a thousand times slower, and results in cowboy coffee.
Can't drink the last swallow at the bottom of the mug -- that requires chewing, not sipping.
Best wishes for the hand-reassembly Stu. Doesn't sound like a fun few weeks, to me.
But it's ok. Temps going to low 80s today, but I'm still suspicious. Rain this weekend, likely meaning cooler Fahrenheits.
Meanwhile, I'm thinking of changing jobs.
Considering applying for leader of Iran, but I want to have a discussion with D.O.W. Pete first.
I have some questions...

Good morning, everyone. Thanks, for the start, Martin.

64/75, mostly cloudy. Can’t complain.

coffee filter fell down in the basket

Must be the alignment of the planets, because my coffee maker quit this morning. It does the short “bloom” cycle, but never finishes the cycle. I had to go out and get the coffee maker from the camper, before I went “postal”, which reminds me….we seem to have gotten away from postal workers shooting up a post office. It’s been a while.

I’m here this morning, thanks to Elon. My cable/internet service raised prices with no notice, so I’ve switched to Starlink, at 1/3 the monthly cost. 30 minutes from unboxing to online. I’m waiting for the roof mount to arrive, so I can get the antenna moved, although it’s getting great reception.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Martin. I, too, shall skip the notes of whatnot and drink it as it should be drunk: black and strong.

We had an absolutely gorgeous early spring day yesterday, with temps remaining several degrees above freezing and enough sunshine to melt a fair amount of the white stuff. My balcony is now dry and completely free of snow; haven't seen that in a while.
Alas, conditions are cloudier today, though the sun will appear here and there, and it's quite a bit colder: -6°C/21°F with a feels-like of -14°C/7°F right now, and it will only get about a degree warmer. Welcome to transition season.

@STooRay: I'm glad to hear your FIL's send-off went smoothly. Always tough times for those left behind. Good luck with the hand surgery tomorrow, and be sure to do the exercises the surgeon gives you religiously; my father had severe Dupuytren's Contracture and also had surgery to prevent his right hand from curling up into a claw. Unfortunately, he was lazy about doing the hand exercises and the problem simply came back.

Right, I must be off - I have some preparing to do for something quite important this afternoon. Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Morning Martin & All from a Wintery morning in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 32F, and heading for 45F. We have had white stuff falling for a while, thank goodness, it's not sticking to the roads, driveways and walkways. No snow blowing required! the winds are blowing from the NNE @ 7 to 14mph. And later, from the N @ 16 to 31 mph. The snow is suppose to continue through tomorrow morning.

Stu, prayers for your wife's family. @ 94, we know that my wife's father is close to joining his relatives. And while I'm in the same position that you've been with your FIL, I'll have to do the same as you did! :cautious:

I decided I needed to get the :dr13: out, so I rode down to the town just south of us. They have a really nice view of Kolob Canyon NP.

You, too can come see this in person, if you are coming to WeSTOC 30! :sneaky-2x:

I have to drop off the Tacoma to the shop this morning for the oil pan replacement. Then I'll take Chris out for breakfast.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

G'mornin' from SoMD! Well, sort of good...I mean I'm alive...cranky but alive. It's another foggy/gloomy day here, up to 50F/10C so far. They don't forecast us breaking out of this funk until Monday. Thanks again for being on early coffee detail, Martin, though we all know you're eight-ish hours ahead of everyone else. At least you're making yourself useful!

Well, if you're gonna drink cowboy coffee, you gotta drink it the cowboy way...strain it through your teeth.

Another exciting WFH day (not). On the side, regluing some shoe soles back on my fave shoes to eke juuuust a bit more life outta them. Maybe more brake work on the Av (still giving me trouble after adjusting them).

Stu, glad things went well with the FIL's funeral. GL with the surgery.

Take care y'all!

I thought of that, but didn't want to be spitting out coffee grounds all morning.

So I used my mustache as a prefilter, instead.
(The paper filter is less messy, when done properly.)
That's grounds for dismissal around these parts in Ontario says the other half. Good thing Martin had some coffee left in the pot otherwise the backup is the Keurig.
Pretty mild here rain approaching from the Ohio valley later. The bike is out of the weather this winter but not keeping warm. It wants to get out and there is a possible Friday The 13th to Port Dover. Weather permitting of course. Some are warning of salt and sand still present. I'm hoping the rain today will wash most of that away for a nice little season opener.
Hope you all have a great day. Stay safe out there wherever you have from.
