Ok lads new to this site have looks up about tip over bars but the posts are old what's the best out there now the keep the passenger foot pegs ,can you put a link if you can ,many thanks as I know I will drop the bike

For the strength, can't beat the Goldwing bars.

Buy a set here with the adapter plates. Or get your own and just buy the plates in the same link.

PS Yes, you can mount the bars without the plates, but it's a pain in the screw.

We tried the BygDawg saddlebag guards on our '09 1300A & didn't like them at all. While plenty strong, they crowd the passenger's feet too far forward, to the point of interfering with the Rider's feet. Footpeg lowering brackets didn't help.

Me & wife are happy with the GL1800 saddlebag guards, mounted on the adapters. The 1800 bars more or less wrap around the passenger's heel, giving both the passenger and the Rider much more footroom. We haven't had to test them real-world, but they seem plenty strong enough to do the job.

Cheapest and easiest way to do it is with Goldwing GL1800 crash bars which you can purchase very cheaply and do it yourself. Have a look at this article- ST1300 - Tip over bars on the CHEAP. You don't really need to weld a plate on either. The Goldwing bars can be compressed and temporarily held to match the mounting hole dimensions of the ST1300 using hose clamps. You will see all of this in the above thread.

My bike has front black powder coated crash bars, but I needed a matching back set. I got them from the Red Cowboy who I contacted off eBay The bags are a tight fit even with the adaptors, but it works and looks great. Highly recommended and fast turn around and easy to install (follow the instructions, and don't tighten them down until the bags are on). I even put passenger pegs on my ST-PA and these have room for the feet.
