I have 23,900 miles on my 2007 ST1300

The first set -Bridgestone BT020 lasted 9114 miles
The rear wore uneven - the front made lots of noise during the turns.

The second set - Avon Storms - lasted 7396 miles
Replaced both tires. Front still had 3000 to go.
The storms wore well - very smooth but poor mileage

The third set installed in 2009 were Dunlop Roadsmarts.
Will be replacing rear tire tomorrow. It has 7437 miles.
The face of the tire has the squared off center. It has just hit the wear bars.
The left side of the tire is almost worn smooth while the right side of the tire still have deep groves. Have attached pic's.
The front tire is almost perfect for wear and I will be leaving it on.

My next tire will be a Avon Storm 2

At least 99% of the mileage is with two up. We are fully loaded about half the time. I pray for the days when I can get over 10,000 miles on a rear tire.

+1 The ST1300RR and the GL1800RR both get ridden like the CBR's--quickly!

The new tire stack in my garage is currently at 11--mostly Q2's for the CBR's.

I wish I could have gotten 7300 miles out of my Avons. I was getting 5000 to 6000. Two rears tires to one front was working out well for me.

Holy Crap Batman - In Canada 11 tires would cost me $2500.00

I'm starting to think that 8K miles isn't so bad afterall.

2 up is hard on a rear tire I have gottenas much as 10-11 K out of a rear however after a new rear shock my last one only went a bit over 7 K. I am on my first set of Storm 2's so I am not sure how long they will last. But so far they are wearing well.

I'm having set #5 mounted today, with 38K on the bike. Two sets of 020s and two sets of RoadSmarts. A couple of sets were changed early, prior to long trips; everything went 10K, or could have. The RoadSmarts wore almost as well as the 020s. Hopefully, everyone knows about the RoadSmart problems by now; they're no longer an option in my book. Great handling, but I don't trust them. The set Vince is mounting today are Bridgestone 023s.

Rodger, I am so glad you are getting those Dunlops off of your bike!
