What do people recommend for a tool kit for the St1300? I thought my 2007 had one, but guess not. Proud new owner as of tonite! Thanks

Bet you do have one.... totally utilitarian... and allen wrench is all that Honda packs into the ST1300. Swipe an old kit from any old Honda or Yamaha for the basic stuff and toss in a small torque wrench and you'll be good for most on the road requirements.

Haven't used mine since I purchased.. (Knock on wood) I did use it for another riders bike that was broke down but his was American maid and most of my tools were metric.

I have the basics.... Allen wrench set, socket set 1/4", screw drivers, pliers, channel lock. tire plug kit, air compressor, flash light, rubber gloves, ect.

Enjoy the new ride.
Us early years got the tool kit but not the wonder foam. :(

fwiw the spark plug wrench was about the only usefull thing in there.
make one up with some real tools.

I believe that you can buy a toolkit for the earlier model bikes. Part #89010-MCS-G00 with a cost of around $45-50 (depending where you shop online).

Here is a LINK to a microfiche that shows what it includes.

My bike is an '05 so I have the above kit. I also carry a tire plug/repair kit with small compressor, a better set of pliers and channelock.

With the exception of the compressor, all the tools fit under the seat. (For now anyway, until I put the fuseblock in there.)

As mentioned, somewhere along the way the supplied tool kit became an Allen wrench and the bag the factory kit use to go in. I'm thinking of picking up either a Cruz Econ kit M1 or the M2:

I would prefer the larger M1 (adds vice grips, flash light, a couple more wrenches, tape) but am concerned the 6"x9" (vs. 4" x 9" of the M2) might be a tight fit. Anybody using one or the other that would care to coment?

since the manual bag is about 6.5" x 9.5", i took the seat off and used the bag as a proxy. 'Now way the M1 would fit, the manual is tight enough. it would hold a pocket plugger tho and a few large CO2 cartridges. Looks like the tools will have to go elsewhere.

Along with the stock tool kit, I pack this. The channel-lock is over 8" long. You may have to put it at an angle but there is plenty of room
