Later this month I'm going to take a trip from Arizona to Arkansas and back. I want to take some tools "just in case. I'm wondering what your suggestions are.
So far I have put together:
tire plug kit & electric pump
phillips & blade screwdriver
slip-joint pliars
vice grips
leatherman
4, 5, & 6mm hex keys
8 - 14mm open/box wrenches
zip ties
duct tape
Would you suggest anything else?

Just in case...? Better take the whole tool box, tire changer, bike lift, and spare parts......:rofl1:

Don't forget the spare bike key, cash, cell phone, and charge card.

Hey y'all, buying a 2001 ST1100 next week. I live in Austin, TX. and the bike is at a dealership in Minnesota. I got confirmation that the bike is in tip top shape. I plan on flying there and riding it back home.

Do yall think this is a good tool kit just for this trip? I am bringing a battery pack for jumping just in case, full gear, extra socks, zipties, battery bank for phone, spare clothes for Kansas City rest day. Is there anything else I need? I plan on using BunkerBike.

Methinks the spark plug wrench offered there will give some grieve...
I'd go with an OEM kit...

Call the dealer and make sure the factory tool kit is there. Can of fixaflat, duct tape. Take it on a good test drive before you sign. Leave the key on for a couple of minutes while you do a walk around inspection. That will give you a poor mans battery test.

At top of home page, click on riding. At the bottom is RAN list. That will give you members in the area in case you have a break down (unheard of for a honda) in case it's more than you can handle.

Aside from tools a CAA / AAA membership that includes flatbed towing is great to have as well as a fall back.

If your bike dies there's a limited number of things you can do at the side of the road.

My CAA membership covers 200km (124m) towing for free and drivers often know where the local dealers or independant shops are located.
