This was posted on the NT forum, but the invitation goes out to ST forum too. This is NOT a YooperSTOC, but many of you have been there.

TurboJim and JungleJim are planning a ride in the UP of MI from about Aug 18 - 24. There is no route, no fees, and no promises. We hope to camp most of the time and just follow our noses around the best roads in the Upper Peninsula. We tentatively plan to meet in Grand Maris and both of are about one days ride from there. After that everything is negotiable. We can leave our base camp there and do day loops or find new camps wherever we land. There are lots of mom and pop motels in the UP if anyone wants those accommodations. TurboJim will be coming from southeastern MI (possibly via the MotoGuzzi alley at Interlochen MI) and JungleJim will be coming from NW WI. We may dip into WI but not into Canada.

Anyone interested give us a shout. Ride with us or just meet up for a day. We're just out to have fun.

Spent three days last week touring the UP. My (formerly mine) ST was ridden by its new owner, I had the Wing pulling the tent camper trailer, and the other guys had a FZ6 and a Triumph Tiger 800. Grand Rapids, MN to Copper Harbor with a few loops thru the Porcipine Mountain park a couple different days. Up/down most of both shores. Weather was great, highs in the low 70's.
Stopped to visit the Gay Bar (Gay, MI) which is about the only thing in the "town". Excellent city campground in Lake Linden.

Excellent city campground in Lake Linden.

Thanks for the "heads up". There are lots of hidden treasures in the UP. I live on US 2 so you probably rode right by my house.

I spent 3 days last week riding with friends and relatives over to Door County WI and playing tourist. We had 3 Harleys, 2 Tigers, 1 Spydyder, a Goldwing and a Beemer, but we split up a lot (Harleys and the others). We camped in a nice motel in Shawano. Great weather and great ride.

For those who missed this great (two rider) event here's the follow-up starting with post #5.
