G'Day...

-6°/-3°C, a foggy, gray morning, with a slight pinkish hue... 🌫️, now the (still low) sun is out... ☀️
sunrise 0736hrs, sunset 1636hrs... I start to see some shades of gray instead of black air on my commute to/from work... 🌃

hope everyone is properly caffeinated, if not grab another hot Joe... :coffee-2x:

So far a calm day, da boss is out, skeleton crew...

More spares for ze GF's bike arrived, cowl stay and garnish plate...
For "older" motorcycles eBay is a perfect source for (used) spares... 🏍️
true sustainable recycling... one man's trash is another man's gold... indeed...
Already starting to look forward to the work, bringing the banged up NT700VA back into shape...

GF has another physio with PT today... hope she gets her agility and mojo back soon...

The corp running my 'home savings' (a tax-deferred, long-term savings plan) is bugging me about "new messages in your inbox",
while having my online user access blocked... :cautious:
Complaint is out, they're likely doing such to force folks to change to their bloody phone app... which I strictly reject...
If that phone keels over, gets lost/stolen I am blind and deaf...
Just gimme an ID and PW so I can access my stuff from any computer, anywhere on this planet...

However, another workday, so... :coffee:

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 19°F in Rockville. Brrrrrr. It's also clear and feels like 2°F. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Sunny with a high of 26 is expected but it'll never feel like more than 23.

My calendar says I have no plans, schedule, or appointments today. Perfect.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all.

-8 here and dark, headed to a partly sunny -5. We had some more snow overnight. After we hit today's "high" it'll plummet to -15 and we're supposed to get 10cm of white.

After work today I get to go back to the furniture store for a 4th time related to the end tables. The 1st set were in terrible shape, with finish and factory defects. The 2nd set we picked up were a different style, and ended up needing assembly. We noticed a few defects in parts when I was assembling them last night, so back I go to see if they will just replace the bad parts. It's a shame they all have QC stickers on them, when there was no obvious quality control done, unless it was by a blind person, at night, in a room with no windows or lights.

Enjoy your day,

Obo.

Sorry about your banking hassles Martin. I have a real problem when others start playing with my money. But fortunately, there is no shortage of banks in the US.
But unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a heckuva lot of difference between them, either. I can, have, and will drop a bank and move my money in a heartbeat when they screw up.
The Black Rifle in the drip machine just gurgled, "I'm ready", so i must attend to my caffeination protocol, as it's only 27 outside and the antifreeze is required pre-launch.
Looks like 46 might be the high, but that doesn't matter at this time in the morning.
See y'all later.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's sunny and 15f in MA this morning, rising to 18, later.
15-25mph wind, with higher gusts possible.
Brrrr...

Yesterday was another low-key day.
I got outside, mid-morning, to snowblow the walk and driveway, and clean the vehicles off.
While I was out there, I started the Wing and let it run to add some charge to the battery.
Total snow accumilation looks to be about 6".
This morning, except for an ice patch or two, the roads and driveway are clear.

I made it to the ski shop, and collected my new boots and old skis, then vegged out until we did an early dinner.

Today, I'll make it to the gym, and see if we can get some range time.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Morning all! Late to the party. Sunny and 6C with a predicted high of 10C.

Drove into work today as there was frost all over the cul de sac, driveway and car when I looked outside. Decided discretion valour etc, you know the equation. Also meant I could bring the young dog to work which is always fun.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Afternoon Martin & All from mostly sunny, Southern Utah!

I've been busy for yesterday and today. My toilet project wasn't a flush after all. But like most things these days, due to poor workmanship on the original plumbing contractor, I had to get creative to get the thing installed. Once I removed the old toilet, I found why it kept getting loose, after tightening it up, over and over, until I quit tightening it. They had moved the drain over several inches and left a big hole under the drain. So the left side of the toilet would continue to move, since there wasn't anything to hold it in place! :censored::censored::censored:

So I filled the void with self-leveling concrete filler (found after I put it in, it takes 7 days to cure) and then I had to put a bracket on the right side to level out the mounts. But I got it installed now and I'll let it sit, so the filler will cure. In the meantime we have two others that can be used.

Chris is having fun at her Quilt Retreat, so she tells me anyway!

I'm taking a break now and drinking a Pepsi.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Sorry about your banking hassles Martin.
Yeah...
so they finally responded on my claim, sent via their online portal...
an email with a password protected letter/*.pdf as attachment...
Informing me that my access has been unlocked again: here is your new user ID and the temporary PW which has been sent as text to your mobile...

OK, I open that https website, enter the given ID & PW, get prompted to generate a new, individual PW (which is OK), and then...

... I'm stuck as this site only redirects me to Google Play to install their bloody app...

So I had answer to their email as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam

This has to be a joke...
The access link you provided only prompts me to install an app...

I don't need an app... I need online access...

(Explanation for the 'Millennials' among you:
Start your computer -> open your browser -> go to the https address -> enter your login details -> the customer portal opens...)

If your institution's IT department can no longer manage this, you will simply have to send me your documents by mail as before...

Please inform me promptly and address this ASAP.

So stay tuned for the next episode of: I just won't take your BS...

That stinks.
I can use my banking app OR a web browser to access my account (with login credentials, of course) from any of my devices.
But as a rule, I avoid downloading more silly apps to my phone.
Roz has all the apps for her department stores, fast food restaurants, and a bunch of crap.
This appears to be a fine opportunity to rage against the machine in your best sarcastic, insulting, and articulate style.
I know you're up to the task, and that's exactly what I'd do.
But merely as an outlet to condemn and decry the establishment, while not expecting any modification of their haughty and arrogant behavior or absurd policies.
Yeah, I would definitely do that.
Please keep us posted!

Buy a safe and switch to cash?
The "service" in question is merely an additional tax-advantaged savings contract (originated as finance plan for home owners), with no direct associations to my actual house bank (except them selling you that product)
Bound for a couple of years, gov founded interest rate, etc...
But it seems they "believe" they're now some mighty government agency and can therefore pressure people into their app nonsense...
unconstitutional... what if I'm a senior citizen not owning, nor knowing how to even use a "smartphone"?! :cautious:
I gonna drag that out, consumer protection, etc...
That account is closed and my founds reclaimed faster as they can type a counterstatement...
