after a clear, starry night we'd -1°C in da morning...
hence a good number of numb-nuts drove around like this... again... :

on the positive side, already a morning dawn on the way to work...
even spotted some orange gloom at the horizon while pulling up at the office... 🌅

Sunny, day's high at +4°C, damp @ 86% RH, but not even a breeze...

Split a/c heat-pump in the shed is working nicely again...
Maintaining some temp levels there not only prevents water pipes and canned maintenance fluids from freezing,
it also keeps air humidity at bay, hence prevents dew and... rust... and we wouldn't want to have that... :cautious:

however, 2nd day of the workweek... 😎

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's just 10°F (feels like -5) in Rockville and reportedly clear; we'll see about that, in another couple hours. Mostly sunny with a high around 25 should make for a bright and cheerful day as the sun sparkles and glints off the heavy layer of snow that blankets this corner of the world.

Yesterday's post-storm cleanup went well, though it was still laborious as the snow / sleet / ice pellet mix had frozen into a firm crust anywhere between one and four inches thick. It had to be scraped off the pavement and broken up before my snow blower could fling it aside. Without scraping, the blower simply ramped up over it and skated along without doing much of anything beneficial or productive.

After spending several hours yesterday bending and scraping, it'll be a low-activity recovery day today. I may - MAY - bundle up and walk into town to collect a couple prescriptions, or perhaps I'll clear the snow off my vehicle and drive. It will depend on the level of my ambition, and whether I have other errands to do. But mostly it'll depend on the level of my ambition.

All the neighbors enjoyed the pizzas I made yesterday, and a good time was had by all.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

It's sunny and 0f/-18c, rising to 21f/-6c.
It'll become cloudy later in the afternoon, and we'll have 10-15mph wind.

I spent about 2 hours cleaning up after the storm, yesterday, and mostly stayed indoors, afterward.
I found what looked like a skid plate off of a plow while snowblowing, and dropped it off at the town barn.

Today's plan is to clear off what looks like 1" of new or blown snow that remains on the deck, walkway and drive.
I'll head over to Worcester later in the afternoon for my biopsy, then back home.

Busy days here! I’ve said my goodbyes at home, spent the night at a friends house in Cambridge, next is a meeting in Waterloo then on to Woodstock. I’m hoping to cross the boarder tomorrow. I’m not in a hurry to find out what kind of mess that storm left behind!
Heres hoping the hi-ways are mostly open!

16 degrees overnight, and Martin didn't make enough coffee for this.
There's always one ungrateful, right? I'm not ungrateful though, but today is a super-coffee day for sure.
One thing occurred to me, reading about all you poor frozen fellas and your snow removal endeavors. Reminds me of my distaste for cutting the grass and weeds in my yard. Mostly weeds.
I can mow my yard and leave it alone for a week or longer, but y'all run these snow- thrower-thingies, but sometimes have to do it multiple times a day.
Someone remind me of this if I ever get alzheimers and decide to move to snow country.
That's a highly unlikely scenario, but just in case...
Of course, that also means somebody here is going to have to outlive me, but that shouldn't be a problem for most of you. Just take better care of yourselves, McKay?

G'mornin' from SoMD! Boy, Who done forgot to pay the heating bill? I had to flick my thermometer to see if it was working correctly... 7F/-14C? Well, considering they were predicting a low of 3F, I'll take what I can get. So, crank up the coffee pot extra hot please, Martin...thanks!

A not-quite-unexpected WFH day today. My program mgr gave us the option to telework early yesterday, then OPM decided to just close offices again. So, my car remains entombed in ice, though I will probably have to hack it free sometime today. I am also trying to find my ice chipper. I bought a really nice one and now its been gone a few years (I remember trying to look for it some winter's past). May have fallen down in the cluttered-to-the-hilt garage, but I think I'd rather just buy another...if one can be found now. Otherwise, I'll be sacrificing a shovel in the name of freedom!

Hey, save some money and buy used. It doesn't even need to run for what you're using it for.

Not much else to report. Brush-up rehearsal tonight, though it is via Zoom since our regular meeting place, the library, is still closed. Should chip away more backyard for the dogs to go on. Right now it looks like a luge track and slicker than eel snot!

Morning, dang it got up on the wrong side of bed this morning, yeah in a cranky mood, with a sore neck again. Dad was right all the injuries of your youth will haunt you later in life, still miss the Old man. Cloudy day here 2 C high 10 C or for our friends South,36 F/ 49 F , well be getting wet at around 11 pm tonight. Other than taking the Garbage to the street, nothing else planned for today. Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 28F, up from 14F and heading for 50F. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be out of the NW@ 5 to 6mph.

It looks like we're heading for a warm streak and no storms forecast for two weeks. That will not help the Ski Slopes.

So far, according to Adam, WeSTOC signups are a little weak. So I hope things will be picking up soon.

Chris is still asleep, so breakfast once she gets up and Pepsi(s) on the menu, for later.

Morning all! Overcast but the sun is trying real hard. Currently 4C, the high will be 8C.

Back in the office for the first time since last Wednesday. Brought along some artwork that I now have hanging on my wall to replace the previous artwork "Polar Bear in Blizzard". Always good to change things up and keep it fresh. The hangings include a calendar I received for Christmas; "Photos of Dogs Silently Judging You". Man, I thought the office manager had the look of death. Nothing to cause testicular retraction like a disapproving canine.

Allowed myself to be persuaded to attend a Crossfit session last night by one of my co-workers. No need to worry, I won't exhort you with Crossfitian Propaganda. Walking is proving to be a significant challenge this morning. On the upside, I arrived at the parkade early this morning permitting me to find a spot requiring only going down one level of stairs. It's the small moments that count.

Hopefully everyone snowed in manages to extract themselves with minimal difficulty and I hope you all have a great day!
