Good morning one and all

Happy Birthday, @St-Gerard ! (See, I remembered... will miracles never cease?)

It's time to be up and about, or so says the gerbil running inside my head, so I've made French roast coffee for everyone. When you're ready, please have some.

Rockville is currently wet, rain having moved in sometime in the wee hours, and has possession of 37 Fahrenheits that somehow manage to feel like 38. The rain will continue, with a possible brief interruption around 0800, until it morphs first into sleet then into sn*w sometime in the late afternoon or early evening.

Once that happens we'll be under a winter weather advisory until around mid-morning Monday. We may be left with as little as one or perhaps as much as four inches of fresh white insult, covering grass that only just emerged yesterday from its blanket of a month ago. And the white stuff may be driven by winds gusting to as much as 35 mph. Or joy, oh rapture, oh bliss. Pretty sure I know what I'll be doing tomorr0ow morning.

In a gesture of defiance, the neighbors gathered on our front porch and patio yesterday afternoon and evening for Front Porch Sittin' (R) TM, thereby ensuring that we've done so at least once every month for a year. My fleece sweater still smells deliciously of the smoke from the fire in the Solo Stove.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Some people meditate...
Some people journal...
I aggressively stir my coffee and stare into the void... :coffee:

G'Day...
4°/9°C, gray, some rain in the afternoon will wash up the last remains of the winter wonderland...
Further west and up in the mountains a quite different scenario, still road closures and avalanches...

lets open with BeST Wishes to @St-Gerard 😎

relaxed Sunday coffee sipping... ☕
also some 🍞, 🧈 and 🍓...
not much planned today, ze GF doing some research for the Swedish Gathering... 😎
(... whilst she rather ought to drive some NT700VA parts in dire need of new paint over to "the guy"...)

enjoy your day of "doin' nuttin'" 😎

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.

It's cloudy and 28, rising to 31 with snow forecast for later. Most of the snow will arrive tonight, and they predict 8-12".

Yesterday's income tax preperation(H) went well, and we paid much less than last year, due to a recent senior deduction, mostly. After the dancing stopped, we settled in back home, and eventually had dinner across the street.

This morning, as I was coming onto the forum, our Oil guy showed up to deliver in advance of the storm. They must be real busy, this weekend.
We'll head over to our neighbor's place later this morning, for a delayed B'day gathering for their now-3-Year-old. We may get out in advance of the storm, to our favorite Chinese restaurant.

@St-Gerard, Happy Birthday to you, sir!

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all!
Sorry to hear that those gerbils are still raising a ruckus with your brain, Keith!
I’ll partake of a hot mug of that in FR.
I’ll get out for a pedal bike ride today, I’ve been slacking and not getting enough exercise this month!
I’ve got everything done I can do here. I’m just waiting on the repair guy, he’s going to rebuild the 4 ethanol damaged carburetors on my pontoon boat motor.
I’ve been enjoying this lovely weather, but I’m told more cold weather will be moving in!
Presently 64f then later 80 or 19/26c
@St-Gerard, Happy Birthday!
Stu, please pass along my condolences to Mrs Stu! Also, please advise you surgery date.
Enjoy your day everyone!
WB
PS
A HUGE welcome to those who are making their first posts on the site!

Thanks, Keith. You slept in till almost 5 this morning. Well, that's when you posted -- not necessarily the same big hand- little hand clock orientation.
Today is not a do-nuttin' day for me, as I'm running the computer at church both services, then I'll prowl around the Home Show at the Civic Center till they close at 5 or 6.
Half the cat herd is yowling (similar to howling, but in cat voices) because they still don't understand big hand-little hand clock orientation, either. The youngest two are the most vocal, while the older two just sit quietly and watch my every move.
Feeding time is 7am, not 5:30, not 6. It's been this way for years. What's their problem?
Our cold front has moved in overnight, and gone are my 70- degree afternoons, so more layers will be called for today.
37 is doable without electrics, and high 40s later will ease the chill somewhat.
When I first read Keith's 3rd paragraph, I saw gerbils and French toast... probably because my nephew ordered French TOAST at the Big Bad Breakfast yesterday. But they didn't use sandwich bread, it looked like they sliced Italian bread diagonally and used that instead. I called it French hoagie rolls, looked like you could have used those slices for a sub sandwich.
I guess that would be a grinder, or po' boy, or hero for some of y'all.
Are you hungry yet?
Remember... feeding time around here is not until 7.

Good Sunday morning and thanks for the coffee, Keith!
I am taken in by the global reach of this community; Austria, Switzerland, Norway for me envokes visions of indescribable landscapes, a lot of envy here,,would love to witness a FPS(trademarked and registered, bygod) but to be able to ride those roads… wow!
Holy Toledo! 85F yesterday and it’s going to 36 tonite?!! Another cold wave!! It’s these high low shifts over here that make people sick, I think.

Tax filing went well this year. I have done my own forever with assist from TurboTax. This is the year everything changes for me so I get online, do my taxes, and since I fit in all standard stuff, it was so easy right up until Turbo says.. that will be $156! or some godly amount like that, I ended that session and in short order discovered there is a EZ form for seniors just like when we started out as kids.. Turbo my butt!
Guess I made it full circle 🤣

I recently discovered some info on my 07 and pre models, that now will make me look to get another ST! starting to see how you get roped in!

I got me a new toy yesterday, should have much sooner, but you know.. air compressor! Always had the portables and well good for tires but nothing else, never understood why, now I do.. and I have time.. now I can run air tools up to 4 scfm @ 90 psi, in 26 gals!
Hahaha! I have no idea what I am doing!

I still get lost on the site, hate being new, can’t seem to figure out the flow, the ads kill!
I will pay but gotta figure that out, no PayPal here.

Going to be a putz around day, I want to go to my camp spot, maybe next week.

Don’t like all the physical war chess pieces being placed where they are, mistake risks increase significantly, as if that’s a problem.

Thanks all for the warm welcomes,
Enjoy the day!

Woke up to some snow. Why!!!!!!

that's Mother Nature prepping for the Slimy Crud Run, perhaps?

Keith. You slept in till almost 5 this morning

Hah. I wish. Post time is simply a function of 30-45 minutes after the moment I finally tossed in the sponge and got out of bed. I've been awake since well before 4; tossed and turned and fidgeted for hours before that. It was NOT a good night of sleep, or a night of good sleep, whichever way you want to put it.

They live in hope. Hope that you'll mis-read the clock, or that you'll give in to their psyonic waves of subliminal suggestion that NOW would be a fine time to be fed, or hope that in your bleary-eyed pre-caffeinated stupor you'll simply forget the routine.

Good morning everyone, and thanks for the start-up, Keith. In this instance, I am, of course, referring to "Maryland Keith," but while we're on the topic of Keiths, please allow me to extend a warm welcome to @Ndfrc, or "Florida Keith." And here's another "Welcome aboard" to @NTausch. :)

Happy Birthday, @St-Gerard! I hope you have a great day and get spoiled!

Wow, that looks like some storm brewing south of our border! I believe the Governor of New York has already declared a state of emergency. Good luck to everybody in its path - looks like it's going to miss us completely. We have overcast conditions right now, but the sun will peek through here and there between light snow flurries today. Temps will range from the current -9°C/16°F (feels like -17°C/1°F) to -2°C/28°F with a feels-like of -7°C/19°F.

@STooRay: Since he's unable to post them himself, our friend who lives directly across the water from you has asked me to convey his condolences to you, Mrs. Stu and family on the passing of her father. He wants you to know he's thinking of you.

Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely...and if you're anywhere near that storm, batten down the hatches!

Patty

G'mornin' from SoMD! I awoke at 0545 to the Prince Of Purrrsia forcing my legs into a figure-4, and I suspect he was going for a full pretzel before I caught him. Then once he saw me awake, well it MUST be feeding time. Yeahno...out you go. Tossed and turned for a bit then finally kicked the hamsters out long enough for Princess #2's bladder to sound the alarm at 0715. Kicked them out the back door and punched "BREW" on the coffee maker. Thanks for having some FR at the ready while I waited, Keith!

Oh, they understand and simply disregard it. If I could get video of my POP's antics you'd think he came in from the streets starving EVERY EIGHT HOURS starting at least an hour before, usually more.

39F/4C and cloudy at the moment. Got some rain overnight and now getting a respite before it cranks up again and sprinkles in some wet snow. They're talking 3-5" here though a good amount could melt away and just make the roads a slushy mess. Sadly, bc of the rain they couldn't pretreat the roads as they normally do, but our temps have been well above freezing, so accumulation should be minimal until it starts dumping the big flakes overnight. The wife is manic about it, but I'm unimpressed.

Yesterday I took advantage of the nice weather to install a hitch on my trusty Toyota Avalon. It went surprisingly quick. Three open holes I had to chase the threads to clear out rust, three bolts to remove and replace with higher Grade 10.9, raise it into position, add threadlock to the bolts and torque all six down. Done. Probably took an hour at my leisure. The instructions said I would have to drill some holes in one place but not in another...luckily my car was the other. Considering we didn't get to haul up all the set pieces for last month's performance, I wanted more options come April. And I like the idea of being able to rent a cheap trailer for anything I need done around here too. Wiring will have to be another day but I found the right kit new on eBay for a good discount. Fun times to be had.

Welcome to the herd, @NTausch !

Today, grab a few groceries, probably some laundry, and do some HOA stuff (blech!). Take care y'all!

Good Morning and thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. So far having a good day. Security guards watching Movie stuff, left the Airport gate. One chore done. Managed to crack my eggs with out breaking the yolks. Yeah breakfast was eggs on toast, and COFFEE. Weather not nice for riding 6 C with a feels like 0 C caused by a 12 to 20 mph breeze from the east. Lady is blocked in by a bunch of Movie equipment so Mother nature can do whatever she pleases. Only plan for today hang out here on the forum, Naps and go out for dinner, have fun Y'all G

Morning Keith & All, from mostly sunny skies in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 35F, up from 21F and heading for 48F. We have a slight breeze now, but later the winds will be blowing out of the WSW @ 6 to 7mph. The snow from a few days ago is slowly melting. Later in the week, we should see temps above 65F, so that should take care of any trying to hang around.

Happy Birthday @St-Gerard :hat3:

Well, Chris in on her way, with her sister, to LA. So here I am, another week without Adult Supervision. We'll see how much trouble I can get into! :devilish:

And speaking of Chris, they had an early departure time, so she woke me up and I'm trying real hard to stay awake!

Breakfast has been had, scrambled eggs with bacon & cheese, with toast and OJ. But I think I'm already for a Pepsi!

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all, couldn't agree more [St Gerard] it blows today
colder but dry yesterday, thought I'd try out the new oil change on the ST, drove it around a bit and thought about getting a plate and then the rain started
next weekend it is
Taxes! Studio Tax for me; same document format as the old written returns works for me
A whole new can of worms working after 65; nothing says - we want you out - like the OAS clawback, and the reduced seniors non-refundable federal tax credit
Even ICBC doesn't give me the [what is it .417] senior's discount... because I'm still working, but hey, these are the best problems I ever had :roflmao:
It ain't all bad...
Wish everyone a good one
