I am finally switching from an open helmet to a closed one. However, I want one that flips opens up the front part w/a smart lift or similar feature. Was going to get an HJC but want to get more advice..
Advice, links & feedback welomed!:)

I have the HJC Symax and I love it. The convenience of just flipping up the front and not having to take off the helmet is great.

I'm a big believer in the protection of full face helmets and I've been very pleased with my Scorpion and Shoei helmets. That being said, I've been drooling over the new Shoei J-Wing helmet which seems to offer the best of both worlds. I'll be waiting to see what MCN has to say about them and will consider one for next year.

X-Lite

I have used the X-Lite for a number of years and it suits me down to the ground.

Comes with Pinlock etc for anti fog, flip up is good and there are some cutouts by the ears, just made for the Autocom speaker units.

I normally wear earplugs but when training, I ride without as I need to hear the feedback in my headset so that I know if the Vox drops out. Still comfortable and not too noisy for me without the plugs, hence me using the X-Lite.

Try 'em all on and get the best fit. I like my Fulmer, but primarily because it is the only one with enough room for my chin (and I don't have a particularly jutting jaw). I haven't been able to find any other one to fit acceptably. I'm looking forward to trying out the Caberg based on a recent thread, but haven't found it in any store I've been to yet.

I like the convenience of a flip up helmet. I have a Nolan N100E Classic Plus. It was the most comfortable one for me that stayed on my head. I was able to rotate the HJC forward and pull it off even with the strap secured. It may just be the bizarre shape of my head, but you'll want to ensure that any helmet you try on actually stays on.

I'm with RC  I use my Scorpion when I know it's going to be a "fun" ride :D I use my Caberg for my daily ride. :)

I should have serached more threads...Thanks Nurse Bob!:bow1:

I have the X-lite which is very comfortable for me. It is a little bit on the noisy side if I compare it to my Shoei 1000 (which is very quiet). The inside has space for my autocom speakers and they fit almost as if they were made for this helmet. It's been a great helmet for ME. Go try one out to see if its for YOU.

I bought a Nolan N-102 flip-up at the Motorcycle Show in Long Beach and I'm very impressed with it. The latching mechanism is metal, not plastic. Also very comfortable. I took off the flip-down tinted section for now, but may re-install it at a later date.
Good comfortable helmet.
