What problems should I be looking for in an eleven year old ST1300 with 42,000 miles on the clock?
Front forks seals
Bent forks
Shock absorber
Loose triple tree
Bent rims
Clutch
Brakes
Rust in gas tank
What am I missing?

That's low miles, and she's just 11 years old.
When I went to look at the ST I eventually got, I took a strong little flashlight...looking more for evidence of neglect than age. Rust, fresh leaks, old leaks, cracked electrical wires, corrosion around the battery, radiator AND leaks coming from under the carbs.
No evidence of neglect, so I brought it home. Six years now and just one new battery, tires and filters.
You might want to buy a Honda manual and just go over the inspection items in the table....that's what I did after getting my 2006 home.
If you need help with it, just ask here.
Good luck with it.

All of the above

2025 - 11 = 2014? Is it a Police bike? If so there may be service records available.

I was thinking cop bike as well, since civilian models ended after 2012. With that mileage, though, I'm guessing it may have been sold directly into the civilian market without doing time as a service motor.

The other possibility that crossed my mind is that might actually be a leftover NOS 2012 that finally got bought new in 2014.

The VIN will confirm whether either of those guesses might be true, but they probably aren't both right.

...and no one has mentioned the Secondary Master Cylinder?
When was the last time the bike was ridden? Not just started, but ridden?
Can that be determined?

1764865218889.pngIts difficult to know the year of manufacture with a Honda motorcycle - in the UK at least. We don'thave them recorded on the bike itself and the model year is - well just the model year.
In the UK they kept building the ST1300A9 until at least September 2013 - ' cos I have a copy of my production slip and it came off the production line Mid September 2013.
They also brought out a 2014 model - I do not know why - there were some new colours, and a slightly modified radiator - but that is all I can find - and my 2013 built A9 model had the modified radiator anyway.

I've heard reports that the police model was in production until 2016. But I just read that somehwhere and couldn't confirm it - so I may well just be spreading gossip. Although the Police stopped using them around 2004/2005, there were plenty of other services that bought Police spec bikes - Fire, Roadside emergency services, Executive taxi servics (Virgin had some). ambulance first responders etc.

Looking at the numbers of taxed ST1300AE models in the UK. They continued to rise slowly from 2015 until 2018 - peaking at 217 on the road. But if they were still being produced between 2014 and 2018, they were only coming into the country in very small numbers. It was only 24 additional AEs on the road between 2016 and 2018 with 10 declared as off road. So thats an increase of 34. The top horizontal line is 228.

The same sort of steady new registrations was seen with the A9 model. It could be down to slow rate of selling - but we know that they had a new batch off the prduction line in September and in the first quarter of 2014 - perhaps they continued producing an occasional batch until 2018. I don't know, but it is possible.
