I'm having a hard time finding where to get replacement visor screws for my Shoei RF-R. Visors are easy to find, but what about the various other parts of helmets?
I don't see an RF-R listed on the Shoei website but I was just able to order new parts for my RF-700 (base plates) because it uses the same parts (that I needed) as the RF-900, which they still support. If yours is an older helmet you might be able to use the visor screws from a newer helmet.
Website address is http://www.shoei-helmets.com/store/
Thanks for the link, Bob and Craig. Unfortunately, while those places have parts for helmets, it's only for current Shoei helmets, so no love for the RF-R.
I may try to make SeaSTOC, but I won't know until right before it.
Vince,
My point was that Shoei doesn't support my RF-700 either but the base plate and screws for the RF-900 (still supported) are the same ones used on the RF-700. Depending on how old your helmet is, the parts may match other model helmets. I just did a search for RF-R and did find the following link at I-bike.com. I have no knowledge of the company and don't know if this is what you are looking for or not.
I tried to find these parts from the previous posts...no luck. I made a drawing so that you can make them yourself or have them machined out of Delrin 7/8 diameter rod. If the attachment does not work, ask I send it out to you.
Three times now KBC has sent me replacement parts free of charge. Stuff like visor mechanisms and top vents. If you helmet maker doesn't treat you that well remember them next time you buy a helmet.
