You're invited to come and see why New Brunswick, and the Bay of Fundy, is such a marvelous area to visit and explore! Those who experienced the 2025 version, had an interesting time, and will be back! Planning is working well, but wouldn't be the same without the leadership of the illustrious Obo, who knows his way around far better than I.
If there's enough interest, it might be possible to extend the event by a day, the idea being to end up at a different overnight venue in Nova Scotia Saturday night. Then ride part of that province on Sunday, returning to St. John via the ferry from Digby. I'll have to see what Obo thinks...

If folks wanted to add a NS bay side run, it might be better to do that as a prequel before WoodSToc started, allotting at least 2 days (Tues 11th & Wed 12th) (or better to make it 3 and add Monday 10th), and arrive at WoodSToc Thursday night like normal. I can suggest some NS scenic routes if so. The attached rough idea gpx from Moncton NB to Digby NS is just over 10h / 700km / 430miles without stops! (Thus the 2-3 days if you want to see anything not just in passing....)

Based on Marine Atlantic's 2024 schedule, the Thursday ferry leaves Digby for Saint John at 11am and 5:50pm (2h15m crossing) and you must arrive a minimum of 1hr prior to sailing time. That puts arrival at RiverRun at minimum around 3pm or 9pm Thursday evening. I'd reccomend the 11am crossing to avoid arriving in the dark and allow time to network and rest up for Friday's events. This puts Thursday as basically a somewhat relaxed "travel day."

My thought process is, if you added NS at the end you'd almost need to have 2 routes available on Saturday. One route would be for the normal folks heading back to RiverRun and another for the folks heading on to NS Saturday night. (unless the NS bound folks to just split off Saturday afternoon. (8am and 2:15pm sailing times))

Doing NS after & running into the next week certainly wouldn't work for me.

One of our stops in 2025 was at "Los Cabos", a small wood products manufacturer where they make drumsticks. It happens I subscribe to a Maritime publication - "Atlantic Forestry". The current issue has an article, "keeping the beat", which describes the process of turning out world class drumsticks. The story had me remembering our visit, and appreciating what can be done with a small business. I still have my little key chain drumstick, I suppose some of you who were there have one as well!
 
I broke the bad news to Catcher yesterday, but it's looking like I won't be able to make this year's event.

Hopefully, that will help increase the attendance. :rofl1:

Bad news indeed, when the star of the show succumbs to workaholicism, sigh...
However. The show must go on, and it will. Info regarding a "new improved" format is just around the corner, coming soon!
 
Been thinking - dangerous, I know. This year, I'm offering some free accommodation for part of the event. As many of you know, I have an extra house operating as an air b&b. It has four bedrooms, as well as a garage with room for some motorcycles. Since most folks will be looking at traveling a significant distance to attend, the location of this house (in Woodstock) will shave about an hour off the travel time to River Run. So the arrival/ start time will be Monday, August 10. There'll be a planned ride on Tuesday, with a second night in the same house. The ride Wednesday will end up at River Run.http://riverrunresort.ca/ Thursday and Friday's rides will be in the area further south. Saturday will be about hitting the "go home" button, unless you'd like to further explore the fabulous part of Canada that is "The Maritimes", independently. So you'll be looking at three nights at River Run, with the usual fees. So to be clear: Monday and Tuesday nights in Woodstock, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at River Run.
