2003 1300 ECU non ABS vs ABS

Hi Guys,
Can anyone answer whether the ECU for a 2003 ST1300 without ABS can be replaced with a pre 2007 ECU that has ABS?

There is part number. I'm think it have to be the same part number. Or you could plug 2007 ECU on and see if it work for you?

The ABS has a separate controller, the part number for the ECU for all models is the same.

Yes you can use any of the four models.

They changed the ECU starting with the 2008 models (different connectors and everything) but one from a 2007 or earlier should fit.

OK, thanks for that information. Someone told me that they were not physically interchangeable. Wonder what would happen if a 2008 or newer ECU was connected to a 2007 or older bike?
