All,

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Bill ( Saddletramp8511) passed away early this morning. There were 4 of us on our way to see him in the hospital when I got the call from his family. Here is a picture of Bill and Helen taken last year. And another with the local group that consider them dear friends. Bill will be missed by all that knew him. Bill was a Marine and family man and loved to ride. Most of all, he loved the ST Owners group and his riding friends.

Please add your thoughts and photos to this thread.

Also, could we move this thread to the memorial section?

Thank you,

Bill has gone home and is with the Lord now.
Continued prayers for Helen and his family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing, but he no longer suffers. Met Bill through ST-Owners several years back when he contacted me about assisting me with OH-STOC. He brought his unique flavor to the event, with outstanding routes and tasty lunch stops. For me, he was like having a big brother around, and we often picked on each other as such.

Annette, Breann and I send our deepest condolences to Helen and the family.

I will miss him.... Ride on, my friend.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of Bill with Ron Dohy at OH-STOC 2015.

Meet Bill several years ago at Moonshine and several STOC events. Always loved his deep voice and Marine Corp attitude. You don’t mess will Bill. Bill was a very spiritual man and we would talk about our faith when we got together. Helen thanks so much for letting Bill hang with us, so many memories. Pam and I will miss him for sure!!!

Kristie and I will miss our friend Bill and keep Helen and the family in our thoughts and prayers. It was an honor and pleasure to know him. Attached are a couple of photos of Bill and JCB.

RIP Bill,, prayers for Helen and the family..
When I first saw Bill's brand new Goldwing,, I thought that's strange? never saw one like that.. It was a factory blacked out edition, including the motor and covers.. After a while I told Bill I loved that edition.. at least for a year I searched all over the internet and anywhere else for one like it.. It couldn't be found.. I always told Bill if he ever wanted to depart with it, I want a chance.. 2 years ago he called me just before moonshine. claimed he was ready to sell because of health issues.. I was all in! So we would meet at moonshine and make a deal.. AS I met him at moonshine as planned,, he couldn't part with it. Bill was determined to ride more so he converted it to a trike. I was glad for Bill. I picked on him ever since for ruining a rare machine! LOL!

We'll miss you buddy at OH_STOC..

Very sorry to hear this news. @wbgva_roadkill please convey my condolences to Helen, inadequate as they are at her time of loss.

Looking back at the thread from the 2018 edition of WV-STOC, I found a photo of Bill and Helen on the trike mentioned by @OhioDeere in post #7 above.

Helen, very sorry for your loss.

I will miss Bill. He was special one of a kind guy. When first getting to know him his gruff voice and words made me question his intent. I treated it as friendship and was not wrong. As I say with tears, he was a great friend.

Sorry to see this. Prayers for his family and all of his friends, especially those here!
