I will find myself in Casey IL on Saturday 9/17 during the RockNRide rally. Thought I might try to drop by Moonshine Store. Looks like I will be there right around opening time at 6:00. Is it possible to ride from Casey to Moonshine on all paved roads? I'm not afraid of gravel but I'd rather do it on my XR650L than my ST1300.

@Uncle Phil @Shuey ???

@Uncle Phil Well, that didn't work out. No data found in GPX. Two different programs will not open. Here is what is in the file but Basecamp and Mapsource don't like it.

Directions
From Casey:

- South on Rt 49

- Rt 49 straight south until it bends 90 degrees to your right (west). Don’t make the turn, ride straight ahead instead onto N 100th St.

- Make an immediate left turn onto CR 26 (aka E 400th Rd heading due east).

- Follow CR 26 east, you’ll cross a bridge and the road will turn 90 degrees heading south.

- Turn left (east) onto CR 16 (aka E 300th St) in “Hogue Town” (don’t recall if there’s actually any town signs, it’s really just a few houses).

- CR 16 will take you through the intersection with N 500th St to N 600th St and the store.

- The Store is on the corner of E 300th Rd and N 600th St.

Enjoy the burger!

Shuey

PS: A minor route alteration, and the way I go . . . when CR 26 make the 90 degree turn south, take the sharp left descending curve to the left and follow it past N 500th St to N 600th St. Turn right on to N 600th St and the store will be on your left at the next intersection.

Be careful I think I read where some of the roads in the area have been oiled and chipped recently. If you are not familiar with that it is quite slippery in the corners.

So it worked out in the rally I was in that I ate breakfast at Moonshine. I can vouch for the fresh chip seal. Hit about 5 miles of it leaving the store to the east and the south. My ST doesn’t seem to handle gravel as well as my Xr650l but it was manageable. 10134276-5AAE-4808-AFF4-3924E1AEC6A4.jpeg

By the way, got third place in the Rock N Ride rally.
