If you look at the picture above you can see where engine bolts to the frame on the right side at the head. This part sticks out a little and is hot if you get your bare leg against it (only happens when braking).

Beemer has its panties in a wad. Wonder what they will think of the 1200 Tiger when it comes out.

XC definitely has a more aggressive appearance, partly because it was decked out with the hand guards and motor guard. If these were added to the 800 they really would look very similar. If I were buying I would probable go for the 800 simply for the cast wheels and tubeless tires. Having had the experience of a flat with a tube tire it really leaves you with fewer options. Also I don't really think I will be riding off road much and for dirt roads I don't think there would be a significant difference between the two. I am still waiting for these on the used market and will likely be waiting awhile. Glad yours is preforming so well.........
I am so glad I found your posts. I have a 03 ST and a 07 650gs. I have sat on a 800xc and really liked it. I was on vacation out west. The dealer didn't offer me a test ride. I am going to Missouri next weekend. The dealer there has a 800 street version demo. So you really like the power vs your heavy but powerful ST? Good Fuel range I hear? Thanks for your post and information. Td
Couldn't find a used Tiger yet.....So after being bite by the bug, I did find a new toy. Maybe I can keep up with Lynne's Versys.
