Looks like standard ABS, gear indicator, power port, optional bags (like the Ninja 1000) and a top case that aren't an either/or scenario, adjustable shield (note handwheels), factory driving lights, adjustable Showa forks...cool.

Wow, again, this is a very cool bike! I wonder if it can truly displace the V-Strom 650 from its throne?

Dangit. I'm not really interested in any of the changes. What I really wanted were wire wheels. That's really the only thing keeping the wee from the #1 spot on my next bike list. :(
The pic I saw of the Wee it gets wire wheels for 2015 plus a Woody Woodpecker face.

Different animal, I think. The Versys has 17" street rubber front and back and a low, mid-mount exhaust so it has no off road ambitions. The 2015 VStrom 650 has a 19" tire in front, on/off rubber, and even has a beak now!

There is no 2015 Vstom 650 and the 2012-2014s, or any of the 650s, don't have a beak.

Thank you for the clarification! Yes, I know the V-Strom is more dirt oriented, but this new Versys seemed to my eyes to be a lot like the older V-Strom, but I guess you have pointed out the major differences. The Versys is still not going to compete on the off-road side of riding.

I've always liked the V-Strom 1000 2014 design - the addition of the "beak" to the 650 would be intersting to say the least!!

OK OK OK.. I get it... lol I seemed to have missed that little tid bit of info.. LOL

The bike has no ambitions but the riders do. Look where some have taken the NC with 17" wheels. I know of three that did the WABDR this summer. The 19" front tire on a Wee doesn't make it any more suitable off-road in most situations. I'm sure some will look at the new Versys and think "I wonder what a set of TKCs and a skid plate would look like on that bike". People have been taking street bikes down trails as long as motorcycles have been built. There's no reason to stop now.

YEA - I think that Versys 1K looks really good - The front end & bags are sharp. Anything about the MSRP.

The Versys 1000 is not new, been around since 2012, just updated and hasn't been a US model. When I was getting my tire changed in Edmonton I snapped these photos. It was a new left over 2012 with a discounted sticker of $8500. :)

Looks like mainly cosmetic upgrades for the 650. Same engine, that's what disappoints me. Just wasn't too impressed with it for some reason. I think the 180* crank had a lot to do with it.
