John, just so I'm clear, did they do away with the oil cooler on the 96 and later year models?Any USA 1992-1995 ST1100 water pump should fit your '93. What part number is your mechanic using? And why does it need replacement? Last I heard Honda still had this part available.
1996 and later water pumps can be installed on 91-95 STs if the oil cooler is removed. A new Water Pipe and oil filter bolt have to be installed.

Yes, remove the oil cooler and not re-install. Parts to retrofit to 96-02 configuration (from Partzilla today):Do you mean remove the oil cooler and not re-install?? What is the part number for the water pump that is available? This pump is leaking out the weep hole which they say is an indication of internal seals. We have tried to find the internal parts but nothing available that we could find. We would like to rebuild this one.
I was gonna do it as part of my timing belt change. Either last summer or the summer before the WP was available for $250. Now it's obsolete. @BillU did you ever get this done?Do you mean remove the oil cooler and not re-install?? What is the part number for the water pump that is available? This pump is leaking out the weep hole which they say is an indication of internal seals. We have tried to find the internal parts but nothing available that we could find.
