Just to share a few pics from my recent spring adventure.
Background is that my wifes relatives had a big gathering in Trondheim, and they were all flying.
I declined as I have travelled with my MIL before, and I cannot do that again.
So my wife, who I now love even more dearly said;
«But why don’t you ride your motorcycle?»
So after two seconds thinking( I’m a bit slow..) « OK, I’m in».

The shortest route is 1000 miles return, but I opted for the long and winding roads.
Going up north I took the scenic route via the fjords in western Norway.
Going back I took the mountain and inland to the east route.
1300 miles total, but probably even more smiles.

A bit on the chilly side…temps between 41 and 50.
Very crisp air!

Shared hapiness is double hapiness, or something like that.

Roadworks always gives me a chance to take some pics.
I know I should stop more often….

This is what you get for $30 at a cafe named Fjellstova.
Fish and chips, quite good.

My second stopover was at Ørskogfjellet. Wet and cold, but the cabin had a nice shower, and I brought some Rhonewine in one of the panniers.

A stretch as far out west as you can come. Atlantic ocean to the left. If you can zoom in the picture, check the angle of the bridge in the background…insane!

At destination in Trondheim I was greeted by the cat Lexi, who approved of my dyi comfort seat.

After almost nine hours in heavy rain and strong winds, it felt reeealy good to stop at my daughters little cabin and light a fire,
and putting on some dry socks. Stayed for two days.

I don`t wanna go home….

Thanks, it’s like a kinderegg. First you get the joy of planning and thinking about it thru some dark and cold wintermonths.
Then the experience itselfs, and then you get to think of the good memories months afterwards.
A threefold blessing…..
Great photos, that would be an awesome trip.

Thanks for posting, stunning place.
We really must get back to Scandinavia.
Upt'North.
Thanks!
Give me a shout out if you do. I might have a suggestion or two in hand for you.
I posted no pics from the highway stretches.
Going 80-90 mph in rain and gusty wind, well you just have to stick to your heated grips, right?

Thanks for pics/captions...really enjoyed seeing them...any friend of a cat on a st1300 seat is a friend of mine!...& anyone who enjoys Gary Larson "Far Side" humor is definitely a fellow I would enjoy being around!!...Thanks again for your trip-log...my workmate & I had a tall-stack of Larson "Far Sides" that was periodically "refreshed & reviewed"!

:D Wow - I have always loved Norway. I have family in Trondheim, so have been there many times - never on a motorcycle though. I'm amazed that you even took the time to convert speed, distance, and temperature as I'm sure your brain typically works with metric numbers. What a ride!

Very beautiful country

Very nice..!!! Thanks for the virtual ride ....!!!
T
You’re welcome!
I’d love to take such a ride together with someone, but those I know with bikes don’t have time, and those with time don’t have bikes…
Counting my blessings!

I gotta get out more, what am I doing with my life.
Just do it!
I now ask myself why I haven’t ridden more in cold weather….
Bought a heated fleecejacket from heatexperience.no, a tripsaver for sure. I also have heated grips from Oxford.
Just do it!

Yeah I've spent more time this cool spring lamenting the weather, how cold it's been around here this spring, and... the fact that last year by now I'd been out five or six times... Jeeze, there goes my ride!

Excellent ride report, with great pictures!

Thanks for sharing!

I know what it can be like on a long ride when it is cold!

This last January, I rode across the Nevada desert with 27F to 35F degree weather. The first day I took off, never saw it get above 35F and I did 539 miles. The trip back a week later wasn't too much better.
