after Danny let me know about this thread a cuple of days ago, I knew I would need to get started from the very beggining, my wife Lety says I was sticked to the ipad, but it was very, very interesting to read every post, so I joined the envious followers of this starting adventure trough Asia.

BTW: I think Danny would not be the same without THAT palm shirt, maybe he is trying to set a Guinness record on carrying a shirt to the most places world around

Yep, they heard George was coming and delayed the flight!

But they do have cool statues.

We call this statue Yuk-Yay (Giant Beast) This symbolizes for his/her morals/contagious in checks! if a person behaving in the wrong ways? this giant will come over and take care of you if you're behave badly....mom/dad always reminded me while I was little boy, if I got out off line

We are in our rooms at the Paragon Hotel in Phnom Penh. Its an old building on the river but nice. $33 / night.
Here is the terminal from our plane while rolling up to the gate.
We got 31 day tourist visas for $20 plus $2 for photos. Taxi, $10.

Good to see a new destination reached! Man, I can't get a passport card to get into Canada for $22, and I can almost see it from my hill...it sounds like its been a pretty affordable trip so far, not counting plane fare to get to BKK.

3 hour delay but they fed us twice. Had an Ankor beer with Joe and met a cowboy from Austin who warned us all the nefarious activity in SEA. (Remember the "Is Mexico safe?" Thread? )

Keith, I got one for you, I took this picture back in summer of 2009 my first trip back to Laos was in Thailand/Laos for 6+ weeks. I left Laos since in 1975.
