I currently have a 2005 ST1300 that I picked up three years ago with only 6K on it. (20K now) I love it........so much I had to get another one.

Been looking for the last 4-5 months and thought I had found really nice 04 (cause blue is so good looking) but the owner backed out of the deal. Said the wife wanted him to keep it. Had him down to $6300 with only 19K on it and a few goodies. Oh well ....keep looking.

Found a 06 on CL in Boise ID with the factory top box and Two Bros carbon pipes and brand new tires.......for $6000. Started a discussion with owner, we hit it off. I liked how he described the care the bike got. He is original owner with only 29K on this one. Did his own oils and took it to dealer for everything else. ( I have already found 3 fairing rivets not installed properly)

So, we struck a deal for asking price. Cashed in 12,500 miles on Alaska Air, paid $5.60 in airport fees got a ticket to Boise from Seattle.

When I got there the owner, Byron, informed me that he had inspected all the fluids, checked the tires, filled it with premium gas, and even gave it a fresh wax job (didn't need it) so the bugs would clean off easier when I got home. He had packaged up the orig. pipes and had them ready to ship home for me.

So, off to 7Bays WA from Boise ID I go, 445 miles, two passes, thru McCall ID at 5400 feet. Bike ran great but it was soon apparent that the thermostat was stuck. OH well, I knew there would be something.

I left Seattle at 7:25am. Arrived in Boise at 8:45am Seattle time. Made 7Bays by 6:58pm Seattle time. Took about 6 breaks and a lunch. Awesome day...I still feel like a little boy at Christmas.

Congrats!

What kind of mpg did you get?
I'm sure Chris's '05 had a stuck stat; but, we were getting 55mpg 2-up while on PNW high/free ways (lower speed limits than around here!).

Supra Sabre you are my HERO!

I got about 44 mph, had two bars on the stat most of the time. One bar around McCall. I Spent $45 on gas and when I got on the airplane in Seattle, I moved my seat to accommodate parents with two little kids, so AK Air gave me a $50 travel voucher.....so in my mind I rode it home for free.

Congrats on your new ST. Once you fix the T-stat you'll see that the BLACK ones are the fastest.:)
The fastest will be which ever one I put those carbon fiber Two Bros pipes on. :)

You might be able to keep up with me now! haha I take it you may have enjoyed the rumble of the V4 as I do, but I still occasionally will slip the stock pipes on for kicks every once in a while.

Glad to hear the ride back was awesome to!

I have found a new joy ..... 2 bros. It sounds like my piped XR400 I had a decade ago. Love the crack when you blip the throttle.
These2 Bros. pipes go on the 05. The 06 get the old pipes from the 05 because the prior own didn't polish the 06 pipes before he put on the 2 Bro.s carbon pipes. I'll keep the original 06 pipes as backup. It's fun down shifting....BBRRAATTTT.....blub.. blub...blub...blub
