i'll get in on this with my 19 degrees. In t past ive been out in 10 degrees

27 mile commute
Glad you're over your bout with kidney stones. A definite pain in the arse.

Drove last week when the temperature was 36°F. But, it's dangerous to ride in the winter here in Wisconsin as the road crews salt the crap out of the roads.

well this may be the last one for me this winter. the white stuff is coming. That is not so bad, its the more more treacherous sand and salt that sneaks up on you. Now is the time to get her ready for the spring time.

started out at 23 and ended at 18.

Same here Dan. Finally getting some cold weather, unfortunately it was preceded by 1/2" ice and 4" snow making roads un-ridable.

Just out for a short scoot on my ST outfitted with snow tires. I believe this complies with the criteria
Boy, some people are always smarter than the rules!! I think we need to see a video of you riding it to make it official. ;)

Left the house the other day showing 29 degrees F on the thermometer. Rode about 75 miles using my newly-acquired heated jacket and glove liners. With the wind chill the "Real Feel" was probably more like 19 F. Made it back from the 150 mile ride with numb legs and feet but my core was quite warm, I even had a nice blister burned into the back of my right hand from the glove liner . . . pro tip . . . do NOT locate your controller where you cannot adjust it while riding, especially if you KNOW you are BURNING lol . . . love the funny looks on people's faces when they see a bike out on the road, amidst the snow and ice.
What kind of jacket are you using? I found if I wore leather or textile, that it was sucking the warmth away from the heated liner, if you get a nylon shell type jacket liner, think windbreaker, or down vest, over the jacket liner, in between the outer layer the vest, all the heat will be directed towards you, and you'll be warmer.
I've used it down to 24 degrees and was comfy. For your legs, I would purchase a set of sking bib overall pants at big 5 for about $15 bucks on sale, they work great, and are somewhat waterproof as well.
Glad your enjoying the gear.

Expecting the coldest temps of the season next week, as low as -15F if the weather prognosticators are right.
But the driveway and streets still look like this and temps will be staying below freezing so they'll stay this way for awhile yet.
BTW- those places that look like pavement is showing through on my driveway are actually sheet ice.

NOTE: weather updated this afternoon. Expecting -20F Wednesday morning early. I'm sure @The Dan will be able to easily beat his coldest ride since the report is for -32F that morning... providing road is clear enough.

Weather update. Still looking at some rather cool mornings this week Wed and Thurs morning at -21 and -17 F respectively. But all depends on what happens today and tonight and if the roads clear a bit more by then. There are currently streaks of clear pavement showing on all the roads but also streaks of packed snow/ice, and those streaks sometimes cross each other especially at intersections. The beltway is totally clear in the traveled lanes. BUT we are expecting a little bit of snow today (not the bad part) and rising temps and freezing rain tonight until midnight as the temps continue to rise to just about 32 F +/- 2 F. Will be interesting to see if I wake up tomorrow morning with a sheet of glare ice on the driveway or if the air gets dry enough to evaporate it all away. Been about 2 weeks since I last rode the bike, too long. I think I remember once many years ago going a whole 3 weeks without riding due to weather related road conditions. Still, 2 weeks of not riding for me is not very common in this season at all, but seems to be getting more so the last 2 years due to naturally occurring climate change.

been lucky, my longest stretch without riding has been 3 days so far this winter.

well tomorrow we may see some movement in this thread lol. Sposed to be pretty nippy tomorrow and Thursday around the midwest. Road conditions will be the key. Right now our roads are clear, but tonight we are supposed to get more snow and with the predicted temps salt won't work and no melting will occur. Fingers crossed for clear roads for next couple of days so members can show their mettle. Good luck gentlemen, be safe out there.

Was hoping to ride this morning... but warm temperatures yesterday, melting snow and rain over the last weekend, is keeping my bike in the garage. Saw too many puddles and wet spots to chance the ice. Dang it!

A little bit colder than my previous entry. 17 degrees from today's 40 mile ride. Tomorrow should be much lower if the roads are clear

First thread updated. Before it gets really cold and we get some changes, I though I'd post the current standings for posterity...
