Im at the base of the rockies. Two tanks of gas today with the extreem head winds and the 75 mph thing, which amounts to 85-90, or i get goosed by someone behind me. Its nice to b across the grasslands. It was head snapping wind, to say the least. The weather gods really dont like me this trip!
I found a camp site for $20 which has a shower and laundry, otherwise little special about this place. Gonna b a high wind night of sleep and i used every heavy duty tent peg i have.
About two hundred from my hooligans and cant wait to see how they have grown.

550B23DE-04A3-4DF9-BC7A-42564EB344E6.jpegCimarron is known as the edge of the plains and the start of the rockies. They r certainly correct. Two major climbs and decents in store for me today. I left a bit after sunup and am loving the rocks, climbs and hills. Im presently in eagles nest, which is at 8250 ft and a bit chilly. Got my shellies on this morning! I have 175 mi to the kids and am gonna take some windless slow time on the red F9C78145-178F-43DA-9976-22B89F5B1C1B.jpegD6F1405E-711E-4A7A-A44C-F34BD80CB3DB.jpegtoday!

This is a fantastic trip (I’m sure we all appreciate the pics)! I would love to do something like this (except for the really cold weather)- that whole work thing gets in the way, I guess. Mike, are you retired? It looks like a trip like this would take at least a month if not more. I’m leaving for the Smokies May 8th-11th, so a relatively short trip (maybe 1300 miles round trip from and to SC)- there’s 9-10 of us going and my brother is coming out from Colorado for the week to use the 94 and I’ll use the 2000.

I really need to consider retirement- if I was offered part time, I’d be all over that!

My last three tours were two months long. This one will b shorter due to gas, food, motel costs.

I'm in much the same boat; restricted by work, time, money and family obligations. But the day will come. Until then, I will live vicariously through others :) .

No trip to Pagosa is complete without my ride up Wolf Creek Pass! It was around 20 deg colder and gusty, but the ride is always worth it. Saw some deer and a few waterfalls, regrettably where i could not stop.
Im splitting Thursday for a Utah dosage, but i just might complicate the hell out of how i get there. More to b revealed!EB1C8EF5-85C6-4EBD-85DF-881B8B3B1F56.jpeg509C236C-12FA-4BCE-8CFC-A29086775C64.jpeg25A02973-9D64-4C5A-89B0-6ED524765E90.jpeg06585C89-3712-4FBD-91B7-007211890BDA.jpeg

Gonna hit the mile! I rode to Silverton on my first tour and thought id done it. Even bought a bumper sticker! Well, the sticker had to come off! So, its looking like im going to pay special attention to the weather and ride some of the rockies. My kids have shown me some pretty nice loops.
My visit w the kids has been great! Everyone here is better than the last visit. Ill b seeing them again, for a few days, on my way back. Ive broken my [money into two departments. One for fun and one to get home. This tour has been a bit more expensive than the last ones , but there was no way i wasnt going to see the hooligans! As soon as i get home, ill begin prep for the fall trip.
