If you are going from a stock ST1300 to a Police switch, there are a few things you need to know.

1. The Cop Handlebars are about 1/2" longer to handle the width of the cop switch!
2. The Throttle cables are different, they come from under the switch, instead of the side.
3. With a Helibar Gen III riser, you have to loosen the switch and swing it out of the way when lifting the fuel tank.

Probably a couple of other gotchas, but can't think of them right now!

Also, the SW 7/8 is what controls my headlight. SW1/2/3 I was using for my modulator before the modulator quit. SW4 and SW5 are for fork lights and my upper lights I installed.

Thanks folks. It's weird, I found the police switch for 05 and up. No listing for a 04 police switch. The stock switch and handlebars for a 04 is the same as 05 and 06 ect. So shouldn't the police which be the same in 04 as it is in 05?
I know when the ST1300 came out the current police bike was an ST1100 so there's such a think as a 2003 ST1100P.. I don't remember if 2004 or 2005 was the first year of the official ST1300P bike... But, should work for at least up to 2008 and I'm thinking even 2008 and current.

Anytime I want to check on the ST1300P stuff, I go to the 2012 ST1300P, like in Partzilla. You can also compare with the 2012 ST1300 to find differences. This has saved me a couple of times.

This is key! I have one of the few 2003 ST1100P bikes (there was no 2003 ST1100 sold to the public), oddly many parts from the 2002 do not fit the 2003, because the "P" bikes they were built with much earlier ST1100 (1995-1999ish) parts. As a result, I caution that the same may be true of the 1300's.

What? Say more Rider. It's left and right, with grib heater and sold separately
There was a rightside cop switch/handlebar/with heated grip, on ebay, for a very long time. if you look at the picture of that one, you can see that the handlebar is bent. I was just making sure that's not the one you bought....

It is the set is bought on Ebay, I'm bummed. Thank you for saying something, I would have got it home before I noticed. I'm trying to cancel it and they are not answering. Hopefully they will reply tomorrow or I will use and repair what I can and make a point of posting what happened, truthfully of course.

They did get back to me, saying that eBay says the "transaction was fraudulent." Therefore cancelled. Good enough for me but the search continues.

Excellent, glad to hear that! You really have to examine the stuff on ebay. There are a lot of broken stuff out there that these recycling shops are peddling.
