I guess "beat down" threads are only fun when BMW is getting beat down :D Heaven forbid we pile upon one of the messianic Ma Honda's offerings. Blasphemy!

I'm a changed man Mike. I've repented. If you look you'll see it's been a long time since I've commented on another brand thread.

I read somewhere Honda was only going to build 2,000 for the first year. How could they ever even recover tooling costs with just 2,000 bikes. I'm pretty sure in 2017 we will still be able to buy one of these "still new in crate".

I don't think Honda cares about tooling cost. They do things like this just to show that can. Like the rune, ect

What tooling cost? The NM4 is built off the NC platform and Honda has built tens of thousands of them in the last three years. Frame, suspension, brakes and running gear are similar if not identical to the NC700 models.

Rider Magazine tested one in the latest issue that just came out. They seemed rather fond of it.

If you've watched a movie or TV show lately, you'll see this bike fit's in with what is currently marketed to the masses. It would not be difficult to imagine Bat Man blasting through Gotham on this, or see it Transforming in to a fighting machine. Maybe it's not what "we" are looking for, and "we" would like to see Ma Honda address the (what "we" consider) gaping hole in their lineup instead of this "design experiment".

Many don't find the STs very attractive motorcycles. Too "plastic", not enough of the mechanical bits showing through, etc. Ask cruiser riders what they think of them and most will turn up their noses. Truely "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder".

So Honda is willing to throw something out there that shakes up the market, just because they can. This marketing exercise will be interesting to watch.

When I first seen the FB6, I turned my nose up at. Now seeing them on the street, I kind of like the looks of them. Again, Japan is modelling their bikes to look like HD as they are selling like hotcakes and the off shore ones are struggling to keep up to them.

My brother has never rode a motorcycle before in his life and he just loves the look of the NM4. Honda must of did a survey to see what the public thought of this style before it went into production.

The one my dealer got was almost immediately sold to a woman....I sat on it, didn't like the ergos, but I never rode scooters either...may be kind of the same sensation....didn't get to ride it because it was already sold......ff

Our Honda Dealer here in Lincoln sold three as soon as they came in and had one on order. I don't get it? I haven't seen them on the road though.

I didn't like the looks of it at all when it came out. Bug Dr. rode one and told me how surprised he was after riding it. So I had to take one out myself. I have no desire to own or even ride a Wing. I do not like them at all. But I could see a 2015 F6B Deluxe in my garage. Don't knock that bike until after you have rode it. You might just take it home.

Proof is in the pudding and we shall all see if Honda is on to something good or bad.
Even if it sells well there will be those who still think Honda doesn't know what it's doing because there's no new ST.

Honda is in the business to sell motorcycles and if they make one that sells well congrats to 'em. Doesn't make any difference if I or anybody doesn't like every bike they make. I'm just happy they don't think one bike is for everybody.
