From all the talk here, sounds more like it's a 2-wheeled Accord and less like a moto-sickle!!!!
I would say that's a compliment... the Accord is an awesome car.

I guess they really DID put out the next model of the CTX1800! :D:eek::scared2::duck:

Many of the details are as if the CTX was the test bed (LED lighting all around, tank & mpg & range goals, some of the styling points).
Even the 200 series rear tire.

21 liters, or 5.5 gallons @ 42 mpg. Down from 25 liters at 35 mpg, so same range... ~230 miles

I really like it but I'm afraid that fuel tank is a deal killer for me. I'll wait till I see some of the aux tank ideas.

Taildragger on the hitch will solve those issues...but I agree, the stock tank should have been 7.5gal. I would have like to see another 20-25HP too.

Yeah, it seems they could have squeezed in another gallon or two. From what I've read about the test rides, I'm guessing the power would be plenty for me... it is a GW and not an ST after all! ;)

It's funny... if they'd called this the next ST, we'd all be complaining about how heavy and under powered it is. It's called a GW though, so it's super light and fast! Marketing...

It might help if it had an upper tank to supplement the under-seat tank with another gallon or two, but there's probably not enough room under the hood for added gas. 230 miles/tank would work for me.
I don't recall having seen the HP rating, but I can't believe that a redesigned engine would have less HP than the one that it replaced.

Most bikes these days are targeted for the 180-230 range so that's normal.. the ST, Stelvio, GS Adv are just not the norm as the added range doesn't mean much to most of the riders out there..

~125 HP I think. 90 lbs less weight, 25 more HP.

I never seem to get the mpg they say I'm supposed to. And you won't be using all 5.5 unless you are planning on walking after that. So figure 5 gal x 38mpg = 190 miles on a tank. That's pretty sad for a touring bike. Right now my average on the ST is 6.7 gal x 41mpg = 274miles to a tank and I wish I had an aux tank.

I'm disappointed... where's the AT Bagger? (Snark)

I like it and would love to try out the DTC version (in red, of course!) Just don't tell Annette, at least not till after the kidney has been removed and payment sent to dealer!

Gee....with another 35 HP.... it would have about the same as a BMW 1600!
And Honda had to shave NINETY lbs to get down to the same weight range as a BMW. With a 7 gal tank.

Is Honda really leading..... or just catching up?????

No offense to the BMW owners but I'd prefer the Wing over the 1600.

But, I'd rather have a redesigned ST over either...

Did the power windshield get introduced prior to this model year? I must have missed it if so. I see in the video on honda's website it's use for 2018, but did not find any written reference to it. This is a key feature and I'm surprised at the lack of reference to it (sorry if it's been mentioned in this thread before, I didn't see it).

I think 2018 is the first year for a power windshield on a GW.
