Exactly, Erik doesn't own the rights to the name or its use.Wouldn't they need to be talking to HD instead of Erik? It was my understanding that HD was the one that made the decision to close the company meaning they have control and not Erik.
As a local non-profit development group it's probably a go through the motions action. Hope it works for them. I like some of the ideas Buell has going. How many gallons can you get inside the frame? An update on the continuing Buell saga... probably won't pan out (ala Penske and Saturn), but you never know...

From what I hear, that was just some local business people trying to save jobs in East Troy, WI. For all intents and purposes, Buell Motorcycle Company as it exists today is done. I wouldn't be surprised to see Erik Buell start building sportbikes again, but they probably won't be called Buell, and I'm guessing a lot of his innovations will be left behind to rot in HD's patent library.
yes, I was... but it did seem like at that time, EVERYONE was buying a motorcycle... at least around here! And the values were holding and up..."If only gas were $4.00 again huh?" You're kidding, right? Look I feel bad that this is happening-(personally, I could never ever have afforded an MV Augusta and they never should have purchased the company), but the last thing I want is 4 bucks a gallon...!!!
