I also ride the hot long straight and dull roads of West Texas. Seattle should not give you many heat problems as it only is noticeable above 85-90 degrees. I recommend two easy solutions and the problem goes away, even over 100 deg.

1. Remove inner cowls.
2. Remove tip over bar covers. Gives much better air flow through all that tupperwear. Small storage compartments don't even get overheated.

Have a good safe ride today.

I'm supprised that no-one has mentioned this before but pull up a chair as I have a tale to tell.

The heat is a design feature. It is meant to give off heat
Honda designed the bike for a purpose and called it the PAN EUROPEAN from day 1.
As a marketing thing it was called the ST1300 in the USA.

Europe is a lot cooler than much of the US and the heat thing was built into the design brief of the bike to keep us europeans warm. A job it does just fine.
There is no heat issue with the bike here in europe- it is just fine.

If you choose to ride in Death Valley in August any bike will be hot.

I cannot believe that some ride an ST in shorts and sandles. The heat rash if you come off will be 100 times worse that engine heat!!!!
