2006 ST1300 Rear Brake

My ST1300 is in the garage waiting for the Clutch Slave cylinder to be replaced so I took my 2001 Shadow out for a ride. This is my first summer with the ST1300. The rear brake on the Shadow (Drum) is much better at stopping than the ST. Is it common for the rear disk brake on a 2006 ST1300 to be stiff?

I'm guessing if your ST needed a clutch slave cylinder, that regular service(s) flushing & bleeding brakes and clutch have not been done up to par etc.
I think your gonna find that you probably need a new SMC (left front brake caliper bracket assembly) as well.
When they corrode, they tend to lock up and drag the rear wheel, or worse yet, lock up and pitch you off the bike without warning.
Search the forum for SMC failures and read John Heaths Article avoiding the pitfall's, it will help you understand what your up against.
