Looks like it's coming to our shores...linky The attached photos might be the bike in question, although I sure hope they don't use those panniers on it...yech.

So maybe that also means Triumph will get to work on the 800 Trophy I've been suggesting they build (for me!).

Pictures are the F800ST and is a fun little bike. Panniers actually aren't too bad looking and are expandable. Very fun bike and great fuel mileage.

Here is an article that supposedly shows the GT.

Who knows what the final iteration will be but, from what I can see, there is not a huge difference between it and the ST. Seems BMW is doing some "different" things with its bike line. eg. the moving the F650GS up market and calling it the F700GS.
I put about 2500 miles on the 800ST in the Alps, 2 up. Not the best bike for 2 up (should have taken the 1200GS), but that aside, it was a great bike.

The GT may be very similar to the ST but the bags might be standard. They are optional on the ST. Wasn't the K13GT bags standard and the base K13 a naked bike?

I have a 2010 ST, removed the CAT, have the tallest clear Parabellum shield, lowered pegs and higher bars; a really fun ride in these WV hills with its' smooth shifting 6 speed.
Removing the CAT actually made the bike quieter while adding more character and crisper throttle response. Working this thumping, angry twin motor is so much fun.

The K13GT & The K13s are different machines. They share the motor but little else. GT bags will not fit on the S.

But weren't your K13GT bags standard? I would have thought the R and S models would share the same engine (different tuning), drive train AND frame as the GT.

Like the setup. Those panniers look WAY better than the expandable bags they put on the F800ST. Not thrilled with the color selection, although it's three times what Honda usually offers.

Yup.. I got a close look at TPadden's 800ST and it's basically the same from what I can tell.. very cool bike. I'd like to downsize some and really like these two bikes just not crazy about the prices I see them at but I know Tom likes his a lot.

Here the BMW Spec....With the new F 800 GT as the successor model to the F 800 ST, BMW Motorrad is enhancing its range in the sporty touring segment and setting a new benchmark among mid-range motorcycles.

The high-torque, water-cooled 2-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 798cc continues to provide dynamic propulsion in the new F800GT. An increase in power has been achieved by means of revised set-up. It now has an output of 66 kW / 90 bhp (F800ST: 62.5 kW (85 bhp)) at 8,000 rpm. The new F 800 GT boasts an even more supreme drive with the maintenance-free secondary drive via toothed belt.

What is more, improved ergonomics, optimised wind and weather protection and an even more practically oriented luggage system provides the basis for genuine “Gran Turismo”. The new F800GT is also fitted as standard with ABS in line with the “Safety 360?” principle. Other optional systems such as Automatic Stability Control ASC and the Electronic Suspension Adjustment ESA ensure that the new BMW F 800 GT sets new standards in terms of safety and comfort within its segment.

As part of the BMW Motorrad program of special accessories, the new F800GT can also be fitted with an Akrapovič sports silencer. This slip-on silencer provides a particularly earthy 2-cylinder sound. Made of titanium and stainless steel it enables a weight reduction of approx. 1.7 kg as compared to the standard rear silencer.

Overview of new technical features:
Increased output of the F 800 GT as compared to predecessor model.
66 kW (90 bhp) at 8,000 rpm. (F 800 ST: 62.5 kW (85 bhp) at 8,000 rpm).
Newly designed trim in more dynamic look with further improved wind and weather protection. New paint finishes.
The latest generation of BMW Motorrad ABS, now as standard.
Automatic Stability Control ASC (ex works option / special accessory).
Electronic Suspension Adjustment ESA (ex works option / special accessory)
Convenient adjustment of rear spring mount using handwheel.
Suspension optimised in terms of ride stability and comfort.
New, lighter wheels in dynamic design.
Adapted ergonomics for increased touring comfort with higher handlebars and repositioned footrests.
Enhanced seating comfort for rider and passenger.
New handlebar switch panels and front brake fluid expansion tank.
New vibration-free and double-butted aluminium handlebars.
Cockpit with new dial faces for speedometer and engine speed display as * well as an extended range of information.
Load capacity increased by 11 kg to 207 kg.
New exhaust system with optimised heel protection.
Turn indicators in smoke grey.
Newly developed luggage system (special accessory).
New connection of BMW Motorrad Navigator IV to handlebar clamp (special accessory).
