Decided to set myself a challenge in 2022 of enjoying as many of the Top 50 BBQ Joints in Texas as rated by Texas Monthly. I have started posting some of these that I plan to do on Saturdays as RTEs, but I also plan to ride during the week just to show how rigorous my retirement is for me!

I plan to ride KBiK to these locations as much as possible but will be forced to use the cage occasionally.

This is what I have planned for the next three months:

Great plan Andy, I'll keep an eye on this on those weekends I can get away to see if I can get my ducks in a row.

Enjoyed a great ride north through the Sam Houston Forest round to Richards and Anderson, returning on 3090 to Navasota, then across William Penn Rd to Independence and then south to Brenham. Enjoyed some good brisket and pork ribs at LJ's BBQ in Brenham. Sat outside with some good friends. Cannot beat that for a great way to spend a FRiday!

Check off #2 in the Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints challenge!

I haven't got a clue what that food is, but I know it's good. Going by the size of the lad carving I'm guessing it's not slimming.

My original plan was to eat at the Burnt Bean Co BBQ in Seguin. However when I arrived at 10:00am it was closed and I realized I had misread the opening times and days. It is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I turned around and rode 25 miles back to Gonzales where I was able to enjoy a great brisket and sausage at Baker Boys BBQ, another of the Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints.

Enjoyed the 160 mile ride out to Seguin. Returning to home I out ran the thunderstorms that were blowing in from the northwest ahead of a cold front.

Short but cold ride this morning to the 4th in my Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints challenge. 36 degF when I left the house so I was glad to have my heated jacket, and the heated grips and seat on KBiK.

I went to Corkscrew BBQ in Old Town Spring on the North side of Houston. To avoid the line, I ordered the Brisket and Caesar Salad sandwich online yesterday evening. It was ready and brought out to me at 11:05 so that is definitely what I recommend you do at this joint. The sliced brisket was great and went well with the caesar salad.
