My 1998 ST11oo turned over to 400,000 kms on the weekend.

400,000 kms is about 248,500 miles.

Engine has not been rebuilt. In the last 12 months, I have refreshed the bearings in the rear-end, replaced the timing belt, water pump, clutch (removed original clutch plates!), rebuilt clutch master cylinder, replaced clutch slave cylinder, new fork sliders, rebuilt Progressive shock, replaced u-joint (just because I had the swingarm off), replaced original alternator brushes.

Scoot is my daily driver and should get me through our third Iron Butt Rally together.
Very Nice!

Well, there you go. Thanks Thane, for sharing.

Most of you may not know, Thane also has a KLR. Is how I got to know him, he answered some silly questions for me....You also have to remember that Thane is from the great white north, he HAS to take some time off every winter...and he publishes his projects everytime! See his clutch/waterpump change from this winter for example. A free 'how to'. You high milers keep me keeping on!

I added the 200k back - lost those the last time I upgraded that part of the system... I will change that to 250k as soon as I'm aware of it.

I'm surprised he's not there already since he posted.. LOL

I'm closing in fast!

Sitting at 189K today and sure to be well into 200K by end of the summer.

Just put in my 2nd timing belt, everything else looks great. Am thinking about whether I need to just change those ridiculously expensive carb vacuum pistons prophylacticly before I leave for Alaska in late May...

Aside from routine wear items (wheel bearings, brake pads and the like I've only had 2 failures - the Alternator at 60K (upgraded to 40 Amper then) and my final drive splines got buggered up do to my error in not properly performing the rear drive alignment after the alternator upgrade. I got a used rear drive/wheel and replaced and it's looking as good as ever there now.

Hope to pack on many more! Thanks for the congrats, guys!

The front brakes aare making some noise. It is likely time for new pads and two caliper rebuild kits!

I'll do the front wheel bearings while I am at it. Also time for new front rubber.
