That is quite an achievement, Tony. Given how far it is between your home & work that can add up fast. You have a bunch of touring miles in there too.

Congrats!!! :bow1: Hope to see you at Mecca this Sat and next at RockSTOC.

Hmm, I was wondering if the ST1300 is as reliable as my 1100. I guess you answered that question! Just kidding both bikes have proven themselves over the years.
Well done.

Very impressive and grats, but I have to ask; did the seat take on the shape of your butt or vice versa?
The original seat lasted about 6 months before I went to Bill Mayers. When that needed work I went with a spencer upgrade and upgraded that with $10 seat beads from Walmart, the best option.

Wow! Older thread, but I just read this and I have to extend my congratulations and thanks for sharing your experience and info. I have an 04 with 93k on it now. Good to know that it's possible to keep it for a good long time!

My idol, I'm at 111,000 on my 06 :06biker: and still runs like new. :)

Tires and oil are the most costly items. Put new bearings in at 100k just because, water pump seal at 108k along with clutch plates and springs, it was fine, but I was there.

Since this was originally posted over 3 years ago, I'm wondering if it's still on the road and how many miles are on it now.

I'm at 350k on my 03 1300. The only real repairs have been:
  1. 2 sets of front wheel bearings
  2. u-joint
  3. 2 sets of the rubber dampeners
  4. 1 thermostat
  5. steering bearings
After i get back from RockSToc, I plan on looking at the
  1. clutch plates
  2. rear wheel bearings
  3. final drive bearing
The last time Byron and I checked the valves, one was out by .001".

I really don't think I should be concerned, but, I thought I'd get some thoughts from the collective.
Out of curiosity, what is your mileage up to now?

Funny that this popped up again. Last week I got a message from my son, Justin that he rolled over 188K on my old '05 that I sold him 6 years ago.

Although it is a little funny that I put 174.3K on it in 7.5 years. and he has managed 14K miles in six! But at the same time, he has never had the commute I have!
