A freind bought a set of these ($10 for the pair) for his BMW and new Triumph. When I noticed them he offered to send me the link. They come in a 30psi-44psi range -- so getting a 42psi set for the ST seems ideal. Anybody tried these?

From the website:

These tire pressure monitor caps will increase fuel mileage and tire life while improving the handling of your bike because your tires are properly inflated.

When properly inflated, the cap is green. When yellow ring appears, tires are low by 25%. When red, tires are low by 30% or more. Order one per tire and select the proper PSI for each monitor.

I had a set for a while until one morning I noticed the rear one had leaked and the tyre had no air in it.
@ least it didn't happen @ 60 mph.\
These caps hold the valve open, so if they every become faulty you could end up with a sudden deflation.

Ian is right. They hold the little pin thingy in the stem open leaving just an O-ring to hold pressure. I had 44s and got rid of them.
But the best things are those 83 degree valve stems available from Two Brothers and Curvey Girl. They hold pressure perfectly. It's probably two, even three weeks before I even lose a psi.

I would pass, they are heavier than your normal plastic caps and as such probably put some pressure on the stems as the tire is rotating.... could cause more damage and issues vs save some time in checking the air.

I have had a set on my wife's car (she never checks tire pressure) for about 6 months. No problems yet. Thought I would try them out there before putting them on the bike.

32psi for the yellow ring is too low if you had a 42psi set.

+1 on the 90? metal valve stems.

STOP!!! If you value your life do noteven THINK about using these things. I tried something similar and had a catastropohic failure with the valve cap blew out at speed. Real ugly!1
