6000 Mile Service

Completed a 6000 mile service. Valve check - of eight valves 2 exhaust needed slight adjustment, air filter, oil & filter, throttle body synch. 4 spark plugs. Takes about 4 hours for me.

On ADVrider I've seen some Americans being quoted $1200 - 2000 at some shops. And some are paying that. (This for 1250 GS and GSA, but all the new shiftcam motors will be similar.)
I'll be digging in there with service CDs, a laptop and the internet to guide me.

No, services for this generation of boxers are based on 6,000 mile intervals. Basic 6k is oil & filter and valve check with adjustment if needed. Valves are screw & lock nut. Every other service adds air filter and every 4th service adds spark plugs. I'll do the final drive oil change in a day or so.
