A day ride a couple of months ago, got the Royal treatment. The idea is to take a day ride and get a pic of your ST in front of a Royal Hotel.

Around 500km for the day.

Royal Hotels are pretty common in AUS, not sure about the USA, probably common in CAN. Anyway, let's see what you boys can do.

If the Royal Hotel chain exists in the States ("colonies"...), I was unable to guess their URL or find them with 15 seconds of desultory Googling... but I like the notion of your game.

Methinks some of you misunderstand, Royal Hotel is not a chain in Australia.

The "Royal" comes from the the 1800's when loyalty to King, Queen and Country was very strong with the early settlers (who were mainly English). We also have many "George" and "Victoria" Hotels - named after King and Queen, and likewise the Duke of Kent and Duke of Wellington Hotels, named after ......... well I guess you get the point.

And of course we never fought a war of independence with you nice down under folk!
Don't tell anyone I said that, scchhhhh.
Upt'North.

Getting ready for another Royal Tour, thought I better see if the thread is still active, found it (d'oh!), realise I have not yet posted the 2nd Royal Tour, so here goes ....

These are from May 2018 (yikes, how time flies), my pic folder on my laptop indicates that this was my ride route:

I stayed at the Royal Hotel, Benalla. Plenty of cold beers, a nice meal, room upstairs, plenty of water for the AM shower - pub (hotel) stays are good. In fact, pub stays are very popular with the touring motorcyclist here in AUS. Many pubs offer accommodation at very good rates (some still as low as $50 per head per night, but many are getting greedy), beers & meals on premises, most will offer off-street parking, sometimes under-cover. Basically once your bike is parked, you have everything you need without walking anywhere.

Off-street, undercover parking? Often the manager / owner will move their car out of their garage to allow you to park your bike.
