So, has anyone looked into this for the rear of the ST1100

lots of vendors, some very high reputations. Seems like all the data is known about the stocker and 3 or 4 aftermarket providers equipment.

surely someone can do a unit of the correct length, travel and weight capabilities.

just wondering

Probably not a big enough market for anyone to get involved. Maybe on a one off basis? But most bike owners tend to be..... thrifty and would not spend big bux on this item.

Upt'North.
Setting the internal pressure might be interesting, given how the shock is hidden on a 1300. Why has nobody brought the subject of air shocks up before? Maybe its a solution in search of a problem?

That would just add a few more parts that can fail. If on a trip and compressor, line or shock itself failed your stuck.

I know an HD rider who was stranded by a leak at the OEM plastic compression fitting on one shock.

He wasn't able to ride with the suspension fully collapsed. He installed brass fittings all the way around.

At nearly $700 USD pre shipping I think I’ll look into state side sources first

But it could go on my tax time list of stuff I want

Why are you "stuck"?
Has no one ever heard of the ST-HT (for Hard Tail)?
Hey, whatever Harley does, Honda can do better.
as long as the tires not scaping the fender or sparks flying from the exhaust. Just remember to bring your kidney belt :rofl1:

$700 is about the going rate for an aftermarket shock.

I had air suspension on my old '80's Suzuki. I wasn't impressed. I'm sure it has improved over the years. ;)
