Hi all just wanted to say that there is an alternative to the overpriced Honda alternators and that's a Suzuki Bandit one . With a little work it fits . I saw the other members video on how to fit one and decided to give it a go . Its not a five minute job but well worth the saving.

Thanks, won't help me with the older, smaller one.
I did the Bandit hybrid alternator fix - it took a lot of work, especially fabricating the adaptor plate. Many thanks to Simon, the chap in the video, who did the research. It is possible to pass the hybrid through the frame. The alternator chucks out 14.58 volts, but apparently only 35 amps.
ive seen this and its crap, the guys gone, his "conversion" plates never hit ebay, complete waste of time trying to follow this route
